职位描述

Our client is a western multinational company in the FMCG industry with numerous iconic brands. They have been operating in China and the Asia Pacific area for a long time and is still growing fast in expanding their market presence in the region. Expansion into the Asia Pacific market is a key strategic growth pillar for the company’s Baking division. This position is hence created.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
? The role is responsible for developing, validating and executing the Baking Category strategy for entry into the Asia Pacific market with an initial focus on China and then evolving over time to the Philippines and Indonesia;
? This role will play a critical role in evaluating strategic partnerships and potential acquisition opportunities for the company;
? The role will lead the development of the 3 year strategic plan for subsequent expansion in Asia Pacific including: consumer research, development of the innovation pipeline, manufacturing strategy; distribution strategy; and in market launch support program;
? Additionally, this person will have category responsibility for the baking businesses in Papua New Guinea and New Caledonia. Each country has a bakery business with combined revenues of US$9.2 million.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy
1. Develop, evaluate, validate and execute strategies and plans to enter the China market;
2. Create and implement plans for entry into China. This will include: research, test market, size of prize validation, and optimum marketing mix to support the launch;
3. Evaluate potential joint venture and acquisition opportunities in China;
1). Develop and validate 3 – 5 year plans for further expansion and growth for the Asia Pacific market;
2). Lead a cross-functional team to develop recommendation for Board Level approval.

Operational Effectiveness
? Deliver and effectively implement annual brand plans to reach financial and brand objectives;
? Ensure successful commercialization and rollout of new concepts and trials;
? Manage ROI and ensure activity does not adversely impact business performance;
? Utilise data to anticipate competitive and customer trends;
? Interpret and provide recommendations for category and channel development;
? Identify potential new business and is able to scope out market attractiveness;
? Assess manufacturing optimisation opportunities;

Financial
? Deliver the annual budgeted financial outcomes for the Category in Asia Pacific;
? Manage DME for the region’s budget;

Customer/Consumer
? Develop and implement relevant brand and category plans;

People
? Work collaboratively with both the Asia Pacific market and the Baking Category teams, acting as the conduit for strategy development and alignment;

Product Development

? Provide strong leadership across multi-functional teams in terms of product development;

Pricing
? Support the development of pricing strategy across the channel portfolio;

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

? Business degree qualified and/or with an MBA;
? Excellent English and Mandarin language capability;
? 10-15 years of FMCG marketing experience;
? Previous work in food categories and/or Baking would be ideal;
? Successfully led marketing strategy development as a marketing manager;
? Collaborative work style.
