Packaging Team leader, paper boxes; bags:

We are seeking strong and experienced Leaders and Managers with demonstrable role model leadership competencies. Your expertise will be from a packaging paper boxes; bags operational environment.

Main areas of Responsibility:

- Take management responsibility for a team of 15;20 Operators working on the primary packaging lines

- Manages team to achieve desired production rates, meeting necessary process quality, safety and cost parameters.

- Assesses team training needs and ensures training is received in the areas of safety, environmental, human resources, technical, quality assurance, team skills, and individual skills Schedule accomplishment through effective team management ; leadership including allocation and optimization of resources achieved through understanding capacity capabilities

- Managing the team`s coaching, development and training needs plus maintaining and improving process efficiencies including utilization of lean processes.

- Ensures product meets customer specifications.

- Minimizes operating costs through the effective utilization of energy, utilities, chemicals, packaging materials, etc.

- Troubleshoots issues arising during the shift.

- Partners and communicates maintenance and efficiency issues with the appropriate maintenance and operations personnel.

Skills:

- Candidates must have at least 10 years supervisory experience as well as knowledge of paper boxes; bag manufacturing.

- Demonstrated well developed management and leadership skills

- Must be computer literate with MS Office Word, Excel, windows, email, etc.

- Communicate clearly both orally and in written communications.

- Read, write, perform math at least at 12th grade level.

- Read, interpret and explain policies and procedures.

- Learn new skills and apply them at no less than average speed.

- Apply logical thinking to solve problems.

- Establish rapport with subordinates, peers, and supervisors.

- Ability to promote the company goals of Continuous Improvement through Employee Engagement.

- Champion of Make it Right First Time to promote customer confidence.

Work environment:

This is a manufacturing plant environment. Exposure to high temperatures, moving machinery, moving equipment, heights and confined spaces. Shift Teams will work a rotating schedule between days and nights.

Physical requirements:

Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Ability to speak and communicate verbally with others.

Ability to utilize basic office equipment.
