POSITION DESCRIPTION
To drive trade through the development and implementation of an effective trade plan.
To develop and lead a clear customer driven promotion plan.
To engage in designing clear customer communication and brand plans those enhance the shopping trip for customers.
Report to: Marketing Director
Subordinate: 10+

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • I spend:
    • 40% of my time developing and implementing the Marketing Operations Plans
    • 40% of my time on cross functional decision making and natural work teams
    • 20% of my time leading, building capability and coaching my team

    • I define planning for Marketing operations that is innovative and challenging

    • I build future capability through a combination of external talent sourcing and internal skills development

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • I lead and deliver the Customer Plan. Develop and implement a balanced Customer Plan that reflects customer needs and improves the shopping trip every year
    • I champion and lead the programme of listening to customers and ensuring the business acts on what we hear
  • Operations - To consistently deliver Every Little Helps for operations
    • I lead a robust customer driven method of investing in price
    • I champion a clear customer focused promotions plan which Commercial are able to implement
    • I lead and drive the trade plan in regional level to deliver the sales budget each week
    • I develop and deliver a communications plan for customers
    • I develop and deliver a stores marketing plan to ensure we have the best stores locally
    • I lead the Clubcard loyalty scheme (where relevant)
    • I develop clear policies and processes for the management of Feature Space so that Commercial and Stores are able to deliver actual feature space in stores to meet customer's needs
    • I develop local talent pools so we are spoilt for choice in filling potential vacancies
    • I simplify our operations to free up my people to focus on value added activity
  • Finance - To consistently deliver Every Little Helps for finance
    • I plan and forecast activity to deliver the weekly sales budget
    • I forecast and manage cost centre expenditure within budget ensuring effective use and control
  • Community - To consistently deliver Every little Helps for our community
    • I help my department to be part of the local community
    • I work with staff, suppliers and customers to reduce our impact on the environment by using less energy and reducing, re-using and recycling waste
    • I educate and engage staff, colleagues and customers on our Community Plan
