Basic Function:
The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring Vendor and factory adherence to R.G. Barry (RGB)Terms of Engagement, FDRA’s Code of Conduct, related industry association requirements, local and international compliance regulations, and for executing and/or coordinating audits, including but not limited to:
61 Code of Conduct / Corporate Social Responsibility (COC/CSR)
61 Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)
61 Quality Management Systems (QMS)
61 Security (CTPAT)
61 Environment / Sustainability / Governance (ESG)
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Actively support Vendor and manufacturer improvements by following Legal Obligations, R.G. Barry (RGB) policies and customer requirements in terms of COC, CSR, OHS, QMS, Security and Environmental sustainability through auditing, training, and reporting.
2. Actively conduct audits together with other RGB departments as needed according to RGB audit policies for all Vendors, annually.
3. Coordinate and assist in the scheduling of 3rd-party and/or customer-led compliance audits for assigned factories and countries.
4. Request and verify Corrective Action Plans (CAP) submitted by Vendors, as necessary, as part of the audit process and/or per 3rd party or customer request.
5. Assist in the registration of new Vendors, including gathering document and contract signatures, and scheduling related Vendor onboarding training.
6. Liaise and coordinate with colleagues in RGB USA headquarters and RGB China to follow up enquires related to compliance among supply chain partners.
Qualifications and Competencies:
1. An undergraduate level degree in an applicable field of study as well as a minimum of 5 years of experience in customer and social compliance management.
2. Bi-lingual Chinese/English communication skills. Must also be able to read and write in English.
3. Social compliance-related certification. Familiar with SA8000, BSCI, SMETA, SLCP, Walmart, Target, Costco audit standards.
4. Able to prepare and verify audit-related CAP independently.
5. Must understand manufacturing process, 5S & Lean production.
6. Needs to have excellent collaboration, organizational skills, and strong executive ability.
7. Willingness to travel up to 20%-30% of the time, in China and/or overseas.
8. Have a high level of energy and personal initiative.
9. Ability to work as a member of cross-functional teams and effectively communicate with outside vendors and factory personnel.
