Purpose:

To provide Electro Mechanical systems level support and product design input to internal and customer design teams that will assure Flextronics is providing innovative and cost effective solutions that exceed the expectations of our customers.

This is a “hands on” customer support position with the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

· Provide Electro Mechanical leadership for customer focused teams and analysis of current products to develop technical roadmaps for future development activities for specific customers and technology enablers.

· Develop a complete understanding of all Flextronics Electro Mechanical capabilities and new technologies and be able to communicate this to the customer.

· Provide Product Level R&D, DFx and Technical Support as needed for new and developing products and work directly with NPI and Operations teams for project execution.

· Investigation and understanding of product market trends, technologies and manufacturing methods.

· Work directly with internal and customer design teams to provide Electro Mechanical guidance, input and direction for the complete manufacturing methods to be utilized.

· Demonstrate a complete understanding of line layout, utilization and manufacturing test systems and components.

· Technical support of business development activities for Flextronics High Velocity Solutions group.

· Communicate customer product trends and associated future requirements with internal technology and development functions to drive innovation and value-add capabilities for Flextronics.

· Significant travel required (50%, domestic & international)

Requirements:

· BS Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or equivilent; Advanced technical degree preferred; 8+ years of relevant product development or engineering experience

· Strong independent planning & customer interface skills

· Prefer training and/or experience with various technologies (IMD/IML, CFRT, Insert Molding, Silicone Molding, FPC & FPCA, etc.)

· Strong working knowledge of Electro Mechanical assemblies and electronics encapsulation a plus.

· Strong working knowledge of electronics manufacturing a plus.

· Communications skills must include:

• Verbal skills to communicate interpreted needs for design change, testing results, mold performance, molding results to design enigneers with various engineering backgrounds both internally and externally
• Written skills for various types of reporting including but not limited to: Data Collection/Process Control, Process Capability Studies, Quality Reporting per FSD, cGMP and/or ISO standards, Forecasting, Volume Projections, Actual vs. Predicted Production Performance and Quoting
