ROLE SUMMARY

Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) harnesses the power of data to drive robust analytical insights that inform some of Pfizer

The BAI China Lead is accountable for leading a team to ensure the delivery of high quality strategic business decision support to the Pfizer Biopharma Business of China.

This role serves as the primary relationship manager to the China business and will partner with Commercial Finance, Digital CoEs, Chief Business Office CoEs and other functions as necessary to ensure all resources are leveraged to deliver robust solutions to business issues.

The China BAI leader will work with China Biopharma leadership to understand their strategic business priorities, frame the issues, design analytics and insights plans and deliver actionable insights. Proper execution of this role will result in superior performance of the China Biopharma business.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Role definition and Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Set a vision and provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of a team of BAI China colleagues.Lead a highly engaged and motivated team.

Foster an environment and culture characterized by high performance, impactful work, customer focus, analytic innovation, insight integration, best practice sharing and pride.

Proactively identify and encourage career opportunities that will support the professional development goals of each team member.

Serve as a strategic analytic advisor to Biopharma leadership in China, proactively engaging and partnering with China business colleagues to identify and prioritize business challenges and develop analytically-based solutions that drive informed decision-making.

Ensure the delivery of analytics & insights across the catalog of BAI services, including:Primary market research to inform Strategy Development and guide marketing decisions

Secondary data analysis to ensure comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, including competitive insights, industry trends, market access (NRDL/VBP) dynamics, and portfolio performance

Promotion effectiveness & insights to guide effective use of promotional resources, including delivery of target analysis, promotion resource al"location" analysis, FF sizing/structure analysis, digital analytics, etc.

Forecasting to support long-range forecasting and inform resource al"location", strategies and tactics.

Data reporting & stewardship, including identification of new data sources in partnership with Digital.

Advanced analytics including predictive modeling, data science, artificial intelligence/machine learning.

Customer analytics & insights including development of Customer 360s, customer profiles and predictive behavioral analytics.

Work proactively with relevant cross-functional partners (as mentioned above) as well as global BAI teams to adapt global strategies to the China market as relevant, to share knowledge and expertise and to ensure cohesive activities and quality analysis and insights.

Lead the definition and consistency of business metrics, striving for continuous improvement in analytic approaches across all brands and business units.

Drive knowledge management to identify and maximize cross-category synergies.

Actively seek opportunities to work with Biopharma Operations to identify solutions and services that build on analytic insights.

Be an active member of the BAI Emerging Market Leadership Team. Share knowledge of successful analytics and insights with BAI EM Global and other markets.

PROFESIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Technical Skills

Extensive knowledge about the pharmaceutical industry in China, including relevant data sources required to understand and generate insights about the market

Deep experience across BAI services including data analytics, primary and secondary market research, data reporting, data processing, use of AI/ML and commercial analytic tools; specific experience in Dataiku/DSS and Tableau are highly desired

Experience

8+ years of experience in business analytics function, country strategy and/or strategic consulting

Track record of thought partnership with commercial leadership to advance organizational priorities and goals

Education

Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred in a quantitative discipline.

Language

Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese required.

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements

Limited business travel required

Flexibility to take calls / meetings in evening and early morning.
