Job Description-Assistant Category Manager - WHSmith:

  

1.     Determine & deliver the annual sourcing budget plan and hit the KPI with line manager.

  

2.     Manage supplier relationships and negotiation to deliver reduction in cost of goods sold, first to market, supplier income and effective supply chain and sound cost management/analysis skill.

  

3.     Select & develop profitable new lines with results driven for US market.

  

4.     Good communication skill with both internal and external entities.

  

5.     Work with QA & suppliers towards continual product improvement.

  

6.      A commitment to ensure that all sources of wood & paper & Plastic & apparel products are from known & legal sources and sourcing of qualified products are offered to buying teams as part of our continual improvement in this area.

  

7.     Lead & develop innovative range & sourcing plans, ensure all product and suppliers meet the minimum WHSmith/MRG standards

  

8.     Mindset is logical and aggressive for the business with flexible soft skill.

  

 

  

Requirements:

  

1.     Familiar with US and EU market and can handle the category independently, dealing with buyer directly and result oriented.

  

2.     Good Knowledge with hardline product, preferable in Stationery, Gifting, accessories/printing industry, must have at least 7-10 years buying office experiences or sizable foreign trading company experiences.

  

3.     Familiar with printing tech. in different materials, have acknowledge of hardline raw materials, preferable in clothing and apparel experience as well.

  

4.     Strong capability on sourcing role, problem solver, influential communication, and negotiation skills.

  

5.     Can work under pressure and manage the changes within the biz. Problem solving capability is sound.

  

6.     Self-motivation with sound communication skill and fast learner, expert in Excel- VLOOKUP, data analysis/word/PPT of all PC skills.

  

7.     Good team player and able to travel.

8.     The person who worked for any buying office before like Tesco, Sainsbury, Carrefour, Metro, Woolworth, Target, JCP, Bestbuy, Kmart, Lidl etc will prefered.
