Servicing global customers for over 150 years,  BJB GmbH is one of the market leaders in the lighting industry and operates in multiple countries. BJB Dongguan Electric CO. LTD is a subsidiary wholly owned by BJB Group headquartered in Germany. BJB now is seeking an experienced quality manager to join our team in China. This role will perform critical functions in our China organization regarding production quality control, supplier quality management, and technical support to sales team in China. The successful candidate will need to have minimal 10 years of working experience in quality management of manufacturing industry, with high level of language proficiency in both Chinese and English, and strong skills of analysis, presentation, and communications. Since this role will also need to visit our head office in Germany and directly work with colleagues from head office, candidates must have valid passport and are willing to travel frequently inside and outside China.

 

The quality manager is expected to take responsibilities in the following areas:

• Maintain and improve quality control process of our factory to deliver the right quality performance and system for customers.
• Create and maintain up-to-date product assembly specifications or manufacturing performance parameters in our company.
• Understand international and industrial standards, i.e. ISO9000, EHS, or SA8000, and implement necessary measures in order to ensure those standards are met at proper levels.
• Supervise the work of quality employees over various working stations and provide instructions or corrective actions when they are in needs.
• Check product development and manufacturing processes to ensure quality standards are met at various stages of new production introductions.
• Collect and analyze data of quality performance in our factory to find quality improvement opportunities.
• Take timely actions to address concerns and questions from customers in China or from overseas.
• Visit supplier’s factories and perform tasks of supplier quality management to ensure safety and compliance of our supply chain.
• Assist purchasing and R&D team in development of new suppliers or qualification of new parts for productions.
• Support local sales team in new business development from technical perspective to ensure that customers’ needs are fully understood and translated into follow-up actions in our teams across our head office and our factory in China.
• Offer training program for new employees on quality assurance standards and processes. 

 

Job requirements

To be qualified for a quality manager position, applicants must have-

• Bachelor’s degree in science, electronic engineering or similar from a reputable university, oversea studies would be an advantage in application
• 10+ years of experience in quality management function of electrical or electronic manufacturing industry, minimal 4 years of roles at managerial levels.
• Progressive and solid achievement in quality management tasks and trackable records with international companies in China.
• Spirit of championship in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
• Broadened and in-depth Knowledge set in plastic & metal tooling, optical design for lighting solutions, and/or glass productions.
• Extensive experiences in supplier quality management, inspection & audit, product quality development & risk management, project management & customer inquiry, etc.
• Superior skills in data collecting, processing & analysis, with cost of quality in mind on daily works
• Sophisticated skills in presentation, communication, problem-solving, and timeline management
• Proficiency in communication tools and skills in both English and Mandarin, German would be a great plus
• Result-driven, self-motivated, and attention to details
• Willingness to travel in China and to our head office in Germany
