JOB TITLE: Quality Supervisor China

JOB SUMMARY: Oversee the execution of all Quality Operations in China including Supplier audits, onsite inspections, testing, and investigations and corrective actions;

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Develop and sustain a Quality Organization in China which ensures adequate resources are available to meet Soft-Tex expectations and goals, as defined by the company's global Quality Organization.
• Ensure the Quality Organization in China has clearly defined job responsibilities and documented and approved Standard Operating Procedures supporting the consistent execution of these responsibilities.
• Ensures the objectives communicated by the global Quality Organization are implemented and sustained within the region.
• Ensures proper documentation of all Quality related activities is maintained and controlled.
• Identifies and ensures execution of required testing of raw materials and finished products, and reviews and provides disposition on non-conforming products.
• Oversees coordination and execution of onsite audits and inspections of Suppliers located in China to ensure compliance with Soft-Tex standards.
• Develops and maintains standards for performing onsite inspections for purchased finished goods, including frequency and scope of inspection.
• Initiates investigations with Suppliers upon identification of non-conforming product which has not yet been shipped, and determines appropriate product disposition, which may include rework, rejection, retesting, or approval to ship.
• Collaborates with Purchasing to evaluate Supplier performance and determine continued approval status.
• Supports in communication with Suppliers to drive comprehensive investigations and corrective actions regarding non-conforming products received in the USA. Collaborate with global Quality to ensure adequate responses and follow-ups are received.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement on Quality processes to ensure compliance and the distribution of high quality products.
• Works with Product Development and Specification Coordinator to ensure Supplier’s continue to meet Soft-Tex requirements.
• Maintains a current Approved Supplier List for Vendors located in China and makes recommendations for changes to Approval Status, as needed, for offending Suppliers.
• Manages Quality employees in China regarding hours worked, salary, scheduling and performance evaluation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Close attention to detail
• Work requires sitting, standing, and/or walking for long periods of time.
• Be able to lift 30 lbs(around 14kgs).

• Fast-paced environment: subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity
• Be able to travel frequently within China;

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position will report directly to the Quality Manager, Charleston, SC, USA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University.
• Previous experience in textile industry required.
• Computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet) with ability to create forms, reports, graphs, and tables.
• Ability to work independently at multiple tasks and allocate time efficiently.
• Ability to practice discretion and confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate in English and Chinese. Prefer CET-6 or higher English grade;
