Key Responsibilities:

·       Develop and implement materials (including Fabric, Trims, Hardware, Materials) supply strategy in line with brands requirement and global trading trend;

·       Responsible for the strategic coordination with local Sourcing Vice President/Country Manager

·       Liaise and partner Product Development and Design to drive materials development & innovation. Ensure the development hitting the customer requirement;

·       Lead Materials Development teams located in different offices and drive implementation of standards and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective local operations;

·       Ensure teams managing and following entire sample development and bulk process to make sure all planned meet deadline and liaise different functions to re-solve quality problems and claims internally and externally;

·       Optimize business relationship with suppliers and ensure given timeline and result is met;

·       Define improvement strategy for key suppliers together with local teams, such as phase-out or on-boarding of suppliers, realization of counter-developments and allocation of optimized materials

·       Frequently travel to meet with current suppliers and source potential partners for future production via multiple sourcing channels.

 

Knowledge, Transferrable Skills And Abilities

·       Preferred study of Textile Engineering, or other material related field

·       15+ years of apparel materials development related experience

·       Apparel/ materials industry expertise, in-depth knowledge of fabric, trims, hardware and material sourcing and development

·       Proven management skills and team responsibilities with large intercultural teams

·       Strong interpersonal skills, a strong communicator with proactive problem solving skills

·       Ability to network with suppliers and keep sustainable relationship

·       Fluent in English both written and spoken
