Job Posting - Field Service and Support Engineer
Job Position
Full-time Field Service and Customer Support Engineer. This is a multi-function role for customer support, field service, and technical training. The successful candidate will perform equipment installation, servicing, customer support, and training at Essentium China locations or at customer locations throughout China or Asia.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide equipment installation, troubleshooting and servicing, technical support, and training to customers and resellers located in China. Travel to customer locations is required.
- Work with internal and external customers to resolve complex operational issues associated with Essentium products and provide guidance on the implementation of relevant additive manufacturing solutions.
- Interact with internal and external customers on-site or remotely to provide “Best in Class” service and customer satisfaction. Use of Assisted-Reality tools may be required.
- Communicate effectively with customers to promote products, learn about equipment faults, explain procedures, and resolve customer complaints.
- Determine and acquire tools and equipment required to perform the scope of work.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop training plans or curriculum.
- Attain competence in the operation and troubleshooting of Essentium 3D printing and peripheral equipment
- Attain competence in the operation and troubleshooting of additive manufacturing equipment used in the Essentium applications and technology demonstration facilities.
- Develop competence in producing quality application samples and the ability to troubleshoot 3D printing processes.
- Exchange diagnostic and troubleshooting information with appropriate department and corporate teams.
- Attain competence in the use and maintenance of Assisted-Reality tools for remote servicing
- Travel up to 75% of the time, sometimes on short notice.
- Other duties to ensure customer success as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
- English fluency is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of field service experience. Additional technical training experience is desirable.
- Bachelor of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, will consider professional industrial technical training in conjunction with years of related work experience.
- Expertise in the diagnostic and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems associated with additive manufacturing equipment or related industrial high-precision mechatronics equipment. Able to evaluate severity of equipment faults and anomalies; considering all possible scenarios and identify root causes.
- Must possess exceptional problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Previous experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing 3D printing equipment and slicing software is a plus.
- Experience and competence in 3D printing and knowledge of the trends in additive manufacturing is desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to effectively deliver training content in engaging and meaningful ways.
- Working knowledge of blueprints, schematic drawings, and other technical documents required for the position.
- Ability to read and understand a wide variety of manuals for set-up, calibration, operating, repair, maintenance, testing and quality.
- Able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize projects, and deliver successful completions.
- Self-driven and perform well independently and in teams
- Ability to use communications apps and software and possess above average computer skills using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate motivation and commitment to continuous learning to update professional and technical skills
