1. OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

· Develop and implement the roadmap of supplier improvement and development activities on the assigned commodities (Plastic) for Leggett & Platt Automotive Group (LPAG) Asia. Specifically, the position should be a subject-matter expert for plastic commodity including tooling, appearance and grain, etc.

2.RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform system and process audits at supplier’s site to release new suppliers or develop new production processes at existing suppliers;

· Execution of APQP and PPAP processes and preparation of handover to receiving plants, coordinate initial sample inspection and product release process

· Participate technical review, identify risks and define actions. Give comments of supplier nomination by using TFC (Technical Feasibility Commitment). Provide technical support during APQP;

· Organize and provide training to suppliers (Quality tool, LPAG requirements).

· Support SQ&D Manager to establish or make improvements to supplier development process.

· Coordinate resolution of BIG supplier quality problems whatever development stage and SOP stage.

· Subject expert of the assigned commodities (Plastic), quality system, SD tools and methodologies;

· Other assignments upon business or company requests.

3.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (Indicate position specific competencies *)

· More than 5 years relative experience in manufacturing , supplier quality, quality or engineering

· Bachelor degree with a major in engineering or equivalent.

· Proficient in print reading and interpretation and part measurement

· Demonstrated knowledge of geometric design and tolerance and gage design and function;

· Demonstrated knowledge of probability, statistical quality control and design of experiments

· TS16949 / QS9000 knowledge

· Proficient oral & written English skills

· Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and to apply sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions

· Experience of Continuous Improvement, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing

· *Experience in plastic commodity, professional knowledge on plastic tooling;

4.INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

· Internal: Purchasing, Quality, Engineering and Production, etc of LPAG Asia

· External*: Assigned LPAG Asian Supply Base; Customers(as needed)

*Include other Plants and/or divisions and contacts outside of LPAG.

5.TRAVEL FREQUENCY:

· 30% (It may be flexible based on business request);

· Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

· Six Sigma training and/or certification is highly desirable

· Value Stream Mapping (VSM) training is highly desirable
