About the role

As Production Systems Lead at Bboxx you will be responsible for ensuring that Bboxx products are manufactured to the highest possible levels of efficiency and quality. Working with our contract manufacturer partners as well as our hardware and support teams, you will ensure that the production processes and equipment used to manufacture our products are robust and reliable, and produce high quality products. You will take a lead on investigating and resolving issues found during production, elevating where necessary to development teams and taking ownership on driving issue resolution. You will work together with our development team to map out and realise changes to production processes to improve quality and reduce cost.

Responsibilities

• Lead the interaction with our contract manufacturers and take ownership of all issues that affect production

• Build, own, and manage task backlogs in Jira to ensure all issues affecting production are tracked and resolved.

• Work with Bboxx hardware team to ensure new products are designed for the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes

• Ensure all equipment used in production (for example test jigs, label printers, etc) is fit for purpose and working correctly, and take a lead in resolving any issues or implementing improvements

• Oversee the introduction of engineering changes (release packs/ BOM changes) into production and manage any resulting issues

• Roll-out new production processes with the CMs and ensure they are trained on them

• Oversee continuous improvement of production processes

• Ensure Bboxx and its CM partners are following industry best practices

• Create, maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures, and ensure they are being followed.

• Create and maintain other documentation as needed

• Report on production metrics, KPIs, major issues, etc at regular intervals

      About you

• You must have the following skills and experience:

• 5 – 10 years' experience working for a multinational company in conjunction with large volume (100k+ units per year) electrical or electronic contract manufacturers

• Experience in tracking and resolving issues using task management software, ideally Jira

• Exceptional problem-solving skills: the ability to investigate a problem, understand its root cause, suggest potential solutions, and communicate this to the wider team

• Demonstrable ability to take the initiative in situations where progress needs to be made urgently

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English

• Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin

• The following skills and experience would be highly beneficial:

• Database querying using SQL

• Basic python scripting

• Experience working with lithium ion batteries
