Responsibilities:
Work with customers to optimize soldering processes for FCI products while resolving solder-ability issues. Handles routine and emergency customer visits to provide technical support for soldering and PCB assembly problems.

Provide technical support to New Product (Design) Development staff in defining, developing, and implementing soldering process technology solutions. Develop and perform Design of Experiments to develop the best soldering and PCB assembly methodologies.

Work with Plating Development Engineering and Plating Process Engineering to develop and assure solderability performance for new and existing products;

Provide technical support and training to Operations, Quality, Engineering and Sales Field Application Engineers

Assist Soldering Manager by performing failure analysis. Assists Electronics division Quality Engineers in root cause analysis of solderabing and PCB Assembly defects.

Performs solderability and PCB assembly testing. Evaluates solderability and PCB assembly performance of ELX products and components.

Provide solderability and PCB assembly training to Electronics division staff and also to customers.

Qualifications:
Technical:
Candidate must have a University degree in Materials Engineering or similar degree.

Candidate must have understanding of Solder alloys, flux chemistries and soldering processes.

Candidate must have the ability to understand and analyze PCB assembly processes. Candidate should have a good understanding of PCB assembly methods including but not limited to; Surface Mount, Plated Though Hole and Hand assembly technologies..

General:
Good speaking, reading and writing in English language.

Be capable of working with people with different nationalities and technical backgrounds.

Candidate must have the ability to analyze and problem solve mechanical processes.

Candidate must be customer focused and have a partnering attitude when working with customers and manufacturing sites.

Candidate must have the ability to work with customers and Electronics division manufacturing sites to provide technical support.

Candidate must be able to manage, prioritize and complete tasks with little guidance.
