Position Summary

The Milwaukee PRC Reliability & Quality Engineering Director will focus on:

§ Implementing the 3 year strategic direction for Reliability & Quality Engineering established for Milwaukee Brand globally

§ Driving new product reliability testing qualifications, existing products quality through continuous improvement and consistency initiatives supporting business growth, brand guidelines and annual goals

§ Developing improved metrics and scorecards for identifying, tracking and reporting progress, issues, opportunities, etc….

Key Responsibilities

· Proactively support NPD Vigor Process in metrology, fixturing/gauging, quality controls and capabilities verifications prior to Engineering Builds of sample products

· Deliver Qualification Testing success aligned to Master Specification Control Documents

· Define and implement Reliability Screening Testing for launched products to insure specifications consistency throughout Product Life Cycles.

· Drive through collaborations with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Engineering and Purchasing all necessary processes & systems for assessing, selecting and developing Component & Finished Products Suppliers

· Set and drive goals to achieve continuous improvements to: Outgoing Quality Control at Suppliers for Materials, Components & Outsourced Products; Incoming Quality Control, In-Process Quality Control & Outgoing Quality Control for MIL Factory

· Supervises research, development and revisions to Quality Policies, Procedures, System Instructions, Engineering Standards and Work Instructions that govern the operations of the Quality Engineering Department and Quality-related activities of the Corporate Office, manufacturing facilities and distribution center.

· Lead Team in continuous improvements for framework and systems related to conducting process capability studies, performing statistical process control, conducting gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies and gauge calibration

· Collaborate with US and coordinate PRC corrective action system to insure timely root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventive action, including modifying methodologies to ensure permanent elimination of failures/issues

· Maintain all certification compliance agency requirements, a Total Quality Management system philosophy, TTi ISO 9000 standards and the structure/workings of the Milwaukee Quality System

Personal Specifications

· Recognized Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree an additional plus

· Technical courses & success attainment in Reliability & Quality functional skills

· 5-10 years working level experience in Reliability and Quality Engineering functions

· 3-5 years supervisory/managerial experience leading Reliability and Quality Teams

· 2-3 years mid-management experience leading Factory/Outsource Products R&Q Groups

· 3-5 years relevant experience in PRC with good knowledge of the local labor rules

· Excellent written and verbal English communications – delivering & receiving

· Good communication, listening and interpersonal skills

· Able to work effectively in cross functional multi-discipline team environment

· Self-starter with a ‘hands-on’ approach

· Eager to drive key initiatives and see them through to successful implementation.

· Work in Durable Goods Industry is an advantage
