JOB DIMENSIONS

TheGroup files more than 200 first patent applications per year. In 2019 more than 5500 patent applications were pending. Filing patent applications and enforcing its IP rights is key for the Group.

At the present time, the IP department has teams in the US (East coast) and in France. The position will thus supervise patent activity in China, reporting functionally to the Head of the IP department based in France. 

ACTIVITIES

The purpose of the position is to ensure the protection of the Group Intellectual Property in China. The main missions can be described as:

? Through collaboration with the Group R&D Centers of the area, and in connection with the IP Department, identifying innovations, and ensure the appropriate protection of such innovations. 

? Supervise the patent taking process for Company China innovations.

? Supervise patentability study, and freedom to operate studies, in the area.

? Help the business units to detects infringements in China, and advise them about actions to be taken. To that effect, supervise or coordinate the actions of external offices or other departments in the Group.

? Analyze the IP situation of competitors, advise the BU about appropriate actions.

? Promote an IP-oriented culture in Company in the area, define and execute appropriate training plans in order to develop IP awareness in R&D Centers and BUs.

? Participate to the elaboration of all contracts pertaining to IP (NDA, JDA, licenses, patents cession, co-ownership, etc.). 

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

Group develops strongly its R&D capacity in China. There will be more and more IP-generating activities, in an area where patent activities are getting more and more regulated. 

You will work closely with the researchers, the BUs, the commercial lawyers of legal department and the French and US IP teams.
