Safety, Health& Environmental Engineer

Overview statement: This position supports the development, implementation and review of site SH&E Management Systems and Compliance Programs. The incumbent works with the SH&E Manager to ensure that management，employees and contractors are in compliance with company and local SH&E rules and regulations and that behavior within the plant meets the company's Standards of Conduct.

Here’s how you will impact Ingevity:

● Helps plan and implement the safety, health & environmental (SH&E) programs.

● Ensures that all necessary reports and other requirements are submitted to regulatory agencies and other government bodies as required.

● Recognizes, evaluates, recommends and implements practices and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with SH&E requirements.

● Helps oversee efforts to develop and sustain Zero Injury Culture at the location.

● Supports audits anq reviews of SH&E programs at the facility to identify and control significant risks.

● Collection and update national and local regulations/requirements, informing the site of possible impacts.

● Responsible for SH&E training to employees, organize safety related activities to improve employee safety awareness.

● Responsible for contractor safety management.

● Responsible for firefighting system daily management and ER drill.

● Helps the site set and achieves SH&E goals and monitors key performance index.

● Coordination the incident investigation and follow up the corrective actions had been completed on time.

● Help the line manager to deal with occupational health/safety and environmental protection issues.

Here is what you’ll need to succeed in this role:

● BS degree in engineering or a science degree. .

● Minimum of 5 years' SH&E experience (chemical plant experience preferred)

● Experience within complex SH&E plant environments, compliance permitting, regulatory issues, projects, and programs.

● Experience working with plant workforce.

● Experience in implementing Safety Management Systems in manufacturing operations.

● Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts, exposure to heat/cold, noise, and wet conditions.

● Solid written and oral communications skills

● SHE related certificate preferred
