Responsibility

1. Executes disruptive polymer development projects in collaboration with business unit R&D teams to support BU coating product development needs. Clearly articulate the plan to the technical team to align objectives. New technologies scouting for coating innovation.
2. Develop capabilities and formulation guidelines to enable the design of coatings with exceptional application and cured film performance.
3. Directing and planning the comprehensive complex technical research, development, and commercialization process for multiple business groups or cross-company operations and working collaboratively with TD/TMs in Asia region.
4. Respond to highly technical and complex questions and concerns from customers, research professionals, quality control, and other internal and external parties regarding development and related programs and services. Present results and plans to internal and external customers.
5. Initiate and manage collaborative programs with external partners (universities, suppliers, instrument manufactures, etc.) to compliment internal capabilities and enhance results.
6. Develops project objectives, which includes proposed budgets, timelines, materials, personnel, determining project feasibility, and other project requirements, and receives management approval.
7. Reads and interprets patents, examines new product concepts and technology, and determines how to meet customer needs and market demands.

Requirement

1. PhD degree in Chemistry or related fields
2. with 5+ years of relevant industrial experience.
3. Good project management skills, analysis ability, communication skills. People management experience is a plus.
4. Track record of new material development for coating, additive, ink, plastics, rubber.
5. Thorough understanding of polymer chemistry and physic, relationship of polymer structure design and performance.
6. Knowledge of polyurethane, polyester, acrylate, latex, latex film formation, liquid coating formulation, surface chemistry.
7. Fluent oral and written English.
