职位描述
New business development for PCR Refractories business in mainland China. In addition, responsible in the same area for marketing and promotion of the products made by all the PCR plants worldwide. Reporting in a solid line to the General Manager of PCR Asia-Pacific.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (What functions and responsibilities does this position perform to achieve the above summary?)
5% HSE
Promotes an HSE culture in employee behaviors at work (in SG facilities or away and when traveling) while continually emphasizing and leveraging the “sustainability” as a key value for all SG PCR Refractory products.
15% TEAM COLLABORATION –accounting of existing accounts
Work closely with the Sales Manager of Foundry China and the team, personally visit customers and seek the new business opportunities. Improve understanding and knowledge of the current end markets and customers by in depth engagement of customers and end users.
Enhance teamwork and communication with R&D and Operations to increase throughput of innovative new products and service, leveraging tools like CRM, opportunity tracking and key account management.
80% SALES MANAGEMENT – business development
Identify, develop and define profitable business relationships in new and existing markets by leveraging the Company’s product portfolio, especially for the SBU of Foundry, Non-ferrous, Energy and Iron & Steel. Devise & implement strategy and screening criteria for new business opportunities in the sales area. Further develop multi-tier relationships to organically grow the clients’ accounts. Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, integrating contract requirements with business operations.
In coordination with the SBU Managers and SBU Product Managers, work and fulfill a strategy to promote and penetrate in the specified market in China. Propose the participation of SG PCR to various exhibitions, after careful selection, to maximize the efficiency of the promotion of PCR products, or seek joint exhibition with other SG businesses. In other cases, visit exhibitions to seek sales opportunities, trends and evolution of the competition.
Determine future product needs for the Business to satisfy customer strategies and needs. Support the 3-year-plan, yearly budget and quarterly re-forecasts preparation. Identify potential acquisition targets to support market & business plans.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties performed occasionally or in addition to essential duties.)
Participates to PCR various project or communication initiatives.
1. A 4 year bachelor’s degree in a technical field is a minimum, knowledge in metallurgy is definitely highly desirable.
2. Minimum 5 years of industrial sales experience in a technical selling role and with track record is critical.
3. Good balance of quantitative approach to commercial management and relationship building. He/she must have excellent
written and oral communications skills in Chinese and English and understand and appreciate cultural differences in order
to work effectively with international colleagues. A great sense of work ethics is expected. Excellent organizational skills
are mandatory in order to be fully efficient and keep track of the most up-to-date documents and drawings.
4. High level of familiarity with e-tools, CRM rolls (such as SalesForce) and use of other social media (such as LinkedIn,
WeChat) would be a plus.
PREFERRED OR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (List any further qualifications you would prefer the ideal candidate to have)
Value proposition selling is paramount and project management skills will be helpful. Rigorous time management, a great
sense of organization and priorities, as well as respect for processes are critical for success, while in full conformance with
Company principles of conduct and actions.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY (Any budgeting responsibilities? Maximum approval authority for purchases, etc.?)
Provide monetary figures for the areas most significantly impacted by this position. Items included may be revenues, sales,
budgets, purchases, etc.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY (Indicate the number and type of employees supervised, level of hire/fire authority or
recommendations.)
None But likely to manage other sales engineers in the near future, and possibly agents or distributors at some point.
WORKING CONDITIONS (Indicate amount of travel, unusual work hours/shifts or environmental conditions.)
50% travel including national and occasionally international. Regular Phone/Web meetings at odd hours with time zones
+/-12 hours away may occur expected.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (List only physical requirements that are essential to the position and/or cannot be easily accommodated.)
Good level of physical fitness to handle rigors of rapid and short duration travels and working with colleagues in different
time zones.
