An excellent opportunity is available for a Digital Technical Engineer to join our Air Care Digital R&D team.

    

An exciting opportunity to be a part of a fast paced and dynamic team, where you will be the Digital Technical Engineer of the Digital Projects for Air Care and Pest in RB. Specifically focusing on delivering the digitisation of products and services.

    

Guided by the Digital Manager R&D and working together with key stakeholders, you will be responsible for bringing to life ideas through the use of electronic hardware and digital innovations.

    

An ideal candidate will be a very aware of not only new technologies, electronic and application developments but also be able to adapt rapidly to changing methods and approaches. The role is suited to an individual with an acute attention to detail to ensure the delivery of desirable agreed outcomes whilst being able to challenge the norm.

    

    

Responsibilities?

• Engagement with RB teams, industry experts and partners always anticipating the future direction of technology
• Partner with Product Owners, developers and engineers to create solutions to meet business and technical opportunities.
• Writing functional specifications to aid the delivery of quality solutions.
• Ability to conceptualise new ideas into demonstrable and tangible “things”.
• Identify the routes to development to resolve business problems, ideas into designs, ‘proof of concepts’, demonstrations and put solutions into operation
• Conduct design and technical workshops.
• Conducting development retrospectives and code reviews as part of agile best practices.
• Explore and develop new technical skills and industry practices while absorbing professional knowledge quickly.

                                    

        

Is that you? Skills and Experience required

    

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Business (desirable) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Technical qualifications or experience in software development (desirable)
• Experience in low level design and implementation of electronic hardware, processing, controllers, communication components is highly desirable
• Experience in developing IoT solutions is highly desirable
• Full software development lifecycle and technical understanding.
• Software configuration and release management awareness. (understanding).
• Demonstrated effective organisational and analytical skills. (essential).
• Advanced written, presentation and communication skills. (essential).
• Strong analytical and business analysis (essential).
• Experience in relation to fmcg would be highly desired
• Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google) would be highly desired
• Understanding of data strategies and AI/Machine Learning technologies would be highly desired
• Highly aware of security methods and technologies
• Have great collaboration skills, be a good team player, a personable person with a creative and open attitude, with a delivery and action focus.
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to overcome obstacles by getting support from others; extremely focussed to ensure that experimental programmes meet objectives.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, and an excellent communicator coupled with proven analytical and interpersonal skills.
• 3rd party management experience, both in joint development and more ‘ready to go’ projects.
• Experience in dealing with ambiguity and creating clarity for decision making when a diverse range of options are available.
• Experience in working in agile environments is highly desirable
• Fluent in English (spoken/written) is highly desirable
