Job Overview:

As an Application Specialist – Apparel South China, you will be responsible for provide technical service support and best solutions to apparel customers (brands and factories) through, providing remote and on-site technical support to factories and China brands through-out South China; Also, identifying and prioritizing best growth opportunities and coordinating internal resources needed to support best opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle both internal & external customer technical service requests.
• Able to work and communicate with testing team to settle technical requests.
• Provide Application & technical support to factories/ brands:

- Assist customers in solving problems.

- Product and process, application & technical training.

- Seasonal styles review.

• When appropriate, assist Quality and / or manufacturing departments to identify product defects.
• Support customer visits with demonstration of equipment, products and applications as needed.
• Perform appropriate testing and recommend best product/process condition for applications.
• Detail minded, able to learn quick, effective communication skills.
• Effectively communicate within Bemis the trends, opportunities, business needs, challenges and competitive information from your territory.
• Provide market trends, market need and VOC input to Sales Director and Product Marketing and Product development team.
• Frequent travel in Asia to customer factories for on-site support and training.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in technical field required.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical position focusing on assembly of garments.
• Experience requiring training, trouble shooting, and quick response time highly favored.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent listening/written/spoken English and Mandarin.
• Ability to travel up to 60% including international trips.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Experience with Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
• Garment Industrial experience. E.g. Textile/Fabric mills or trims material / garment factory technical experience is highly favored. Brand experience is a plus.
• Good machinery knowledge (sewing/bonding/seam sealing).
• Knowledge of pattern making/ bonding technology is an advantage.
