Lab Testing Implementation System Administrator / Developer will be responsible for the management and administration of the LIMS system at QIMA. She/he will work closely with QIMA members and external parties.

The main responsibilities include: 

1. Understanding lab operations and business requirements;

2. Performing data setup and configuration of the LIMS;

3. Performing LIMS testing and overseeing system testing performed by users;

4. Assisting and supporting system rollout;

5. Participating in the planning and implementation of LIMS project;

6. Ensuring integrity of recorded data and compliant use of the LIMS;

7. Supporting users in their daily usage of the LIMS;

8. Supporting users and the lab management with reporting and analysis of information stored in the LIMS;

9. Conducting user-training sessions for users;

10. Identifying issues and potential enhancements of the LIMS from the daily operation and resolving them in collaboration with users and external software contractors; 

11. Translating new analytical processes and integration of new equipment/software into LIMS workflows and functionalities and manage their implementation by internal/external software engineers;

12. Maintaining the LIMS database and server at software level.

1 BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or related disciplines or equivalent experience;

2 System development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages.;

3 Applied knowledge of computer system development and validation;

4 Proficient in relational database (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server) design with minimum of 1 year working with SQL;

5 Proficiency in at least one general purpose, object-oriented language (e.g. Java, Groovy, C++, Python);

6 Knowledge in LIMS, instrument integration, Talend studio or Jaspersoft studio a plus;

7 Ability to communicate cross-functional;

8 At least 2 years’ hands-on experience of system development;

9 Experience in LIMS or instrument integration (e.g. LabVantage, STARLIMS, LabWare) will be of advantage;

10 Good communication skills in spoken and written English and Chinese;

11 Extensive training on our LIMS system will be provided internally and via courses conducted by the LIMS vendor;

12 Given interest and skills the candidate is welcome to expand her/his role into other areas in the lab, such as data management, process optimization or regulatory affairs;

13 Appointments will be made on a two-year contract basis in the first instance, with the option of extension;

14 Capable of working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and multinational environment;

15 Meticulous, independent, and reliable work attitude.
