What you’ll learn & achieve:

·        Participates with other senior managers to establish corporate strategic plans and objectives.

·        Works with engineering team to implement UL local mark certification projects for fire protection products.

·        Work with global and local BDMs to promote UL China mark and develop program to any customers who are selling to China market.

·        Regularly interacts with executives and major internal/external customers. Interactions normally involve controversial situations, customer negotiations, or influencing and persuading other senior managers.

·        Directs, mentors, and controls activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the company having overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods, and staff.

·        Assists in developing UL industry/discipline specific strategic plans, goals, and budgets for the department.

·        Increases acceptance of UL certified products (including local UL mark) by providing information on the applications for that these products are certified to standard technical commits, code authorities, insurance companies, property developers and operators, designers, equipment specifiers and installers as well as any other stakeholders.

·        Work with UL staff in other departments to build technical competence of local standards, establish local testing capability, identify strategic partners.

·        Works with UL staff in other departments to improve the ways in that certification information is presented, in order to enhance UL's reputation as the premier product certifier in the world.

·        Identifies new regulatory related business opportunities for UL, and provides analyses and recommendations on translating the understanding of new regulatory into business cases for new services and/or input into division strategies.

·        Represents UL position at meetings of outside organizations, committees, and industries by providing presentations and updates on a variety of regulations and certification related technical topics.

·        Performs other duties as directed.

What makes you a great fit:

·        University degree in Business Administration or related field; or provide documentation of twelve years of directly related experience.

·        Deep knowledge about China Fire Code and fire related China GB standards and group/industrial/DB standards, and about fire technical service and Certification Scheme.

·        Solid Connections with AHJ (Fire Service/MEM/MOHURD), fire testing organizations, designers and architectures.

·        Demonstrated ability to facilitate customer meetings, negotiate, and influence outcomes.

·        Strong program/project management and leadership skills to manage projects utilizing personnel from multiple disciplines.

·        Ability to identify and manage priorities as demonstrated by the ability to establish, track and meet schedules for multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service.
