Job Summary 工作概述
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for developing world class technical knowledge for the whole engineering team, and to build well established individuals who are experts in applying their knowledge effectively to design outstanding products.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and working with high autonomy to run the whole engineering function within Dongguan centre, the engineering manager must exhibit strong leadership in an environment of technology challenges and aggressive time lines. Clear technical understanding and excellent decision-making capabilities are essential.

Roles and Responsibilities 岗位描述
- Responsibility of industrialization, new product introduction and manufacturing process definition of the Dongguan Centre products; 负责东莞运营中心产品实现、新产品导入及生产工艺的制定;
- Delivery of integrated product solutions covering all relevant assemblies including their expected performance targets to be delivered on time, on spec, on quality and on cost; 提供涵盖所有相关组件的集成产品解决方案,包括预期的性能目标,按时、按规格、按质量和按成本交付;
- Resolution of any product safety, reliability and quality issues through allocation of appropriate resources from the relevant assembly or technical areas. The resulting learning must be used to drive continuous improvement and increasing knowledge within the team; 通过适当分配相关装配或技术领域的资源,解决任何产品的安全、可靠性和质量问题。由此产生的资源必须用于不断提高团队的技能和知识;
- Strong communication links must be developed with both the engineers and the operations team to ensure problems are discussed in an open and mature fashion and a consistent, collaborative approach is applied to all elements of product integration. - Engineering managers should identify the most appropriate usage of existing parts and assemblies in future projects. This will ensure that product innovation is managed where it adds the most value and is balanced against the benefits of reduced investment costs, reduced time-lines, reduced risk and increased reliability; 工程管理人员应该确定在未来的项目中对现有部件和组件进行最适当用途。这对产品创新的工作顺利开展有着重要意义,并以***的程度增加产品价值,同时降低投资成本、缩短时间、降低风险和提高可靠性。
- Responsible for managing expertise and resources in the team. Within each team, the manager must ensure that all of the technical issues are well matched to the capability of the individuals within their team; 负责提高团队的专业知识和管理团队资源。在每个团队中,经理必须确保所有的技术问题都与团队成员的能力相匹配;
- Managers must take a proactive approach to project status in the run up to project transition from R&D. This will consist of a heightened communication approach with R&D counterparts; 在从研发到项目转型的过程中,工程部经理必须对项目的进度采取积极主动的态度,包括与研发同行加强沟通
- The manager is responsible for the professional development of all individuals within their team. Monthly meetings to discuss individual's careers, technical and personal aspirations should be commonplace and the focus must be on development rather than the immediacy of project delivery. Clear, achievable development and learning options should be identified and followed through to completion; 经理负责团队中所有人的职业发展,需要开展讨论个人职业、技术和个人抱负的月度会议。同时,必须把重点放在开发的工作商,而不是为了及时完成项目。工程部经理应确定清晰的、可实现的发展和学习选择,并坚持到底。
- The manager is responsible for clear communication of assembly and project status, ensuring the relevant risks and priorities are clearly communicated to the Design Managers and upwards; 了解沟通装配细节和项目状态,确保把相关的风险和优先汇报的情况明确地向设计经理及以上人员传达;
- A key element of the assembly based structure is the retention and development of knowledge. This increasing knowledge must be used to drive increased performance and development efficiency, reduced development time-scales, increased reliability and reduced product cost whenever possible; 要有基于结构的装配知识,并予以运用和发展。必须尽可能使用这些不断增长的知识来增强性能和提高开发效率、缩短开发时间、减小范围、提高可靠性以及降低产品成本。
Skills and Experience Requirements 职位要求
- A Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic, Product or Industrial Design or relevant field; 工程专业、电子专业、产品设计、工业设计或相关专业的本科学历优先
- 5+ years of product R&D and process design experience in consumer electronics, devices, soft goods, or similar high-volume environments, start-up experience highly preferred of successfully managing engineering design teams to deliver complete projects starting from design, prototyping through to industrialization and mass production; 5年以上消费类电子产品、设备、软产品或类似高容量环境的产品研发和工艺设计经验,有成功管理工程设计团队,完成从设计、原型到工业化和大规模生产的项目的启动经验者优先;
- Direct experience managing functional engineering teams a plus, project management a plus (ME, EE, TE, DFX, …); 有直接管理工程相关职能团队的经验者优先(ME, EE, TE, DFX, …);PM 经验优先;
- Understanding of both ME and EE of the product, and able to discuss technical issues with engineering teams; Understand certification and able to discuss relative issues with labs;了解产品的ME和EE,能够与工程团队讨论技术问题;能够同实验室讨论相关测试及安规认证问题
- A good knowledge of new product development process and industrial trends; 熟知新产品开发流程和行业趋势;
- Experience in using process driven and analytical approaches to problem-solving (Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, etc.); 有使用过程驱动和分析型的方法解决问题的经验(六西格玛、8D、FMEA等);
- Possess a very flexible mind-set and the desire to do things differently in order to support the growth of the business; 拥有非常灵活的思维方式,并渴望做不同的事情,以支持业务的增长;
- A strong ability to manage and lead changes positively; 有较强的管理和领导变革的能力;
