1. Business Context and Job Summary
Based in Shanghai, China, this role sits within the China Foods CMI team reporting to China Foods CMI Senior Manager.
This role supports Foods Retail (FR) business in China and partners directly with the FR business team. This position is the dedicated CMI consultant for all things FR in China. It is a business facing role required to work with multiple stakeholders in Marketing, F&R CMI, Sales, Finance and research agencies to deliver inspiration, provocation, transformation and growth insights to the business.
2. Expected Work and Scope of Role
The role of the FR CMI associate manager is to ensure that we have the right insights, portfolio, and execution in place to achieve success of FR business.
This is a pivotal and core connecting role, partnering the FR team to guide decision making.
? Monitoring, analyses and course correction of innovation, execution, and communication projects
? Connect and Manages key business partners, e.g. multiple research agencies
? Represents the voice of the consumer in all decision making in the business
? Manages day-to-day operations
? Ensures that market/consumer/operator knowledge is shared, understood and acted upon within the team
? Business partner with FR leaders – Global and China VP, Directors and Brand Managers
? Deliver local consumer connection programmers that create growth insights for brands and categories.
Specifically, for Innovation projects which are initiatives in China as led by CCBT. The Associate Manager assigns research to the project based on Type ABC guidelines. She/he will brief research agencies accordingly with responsibility of driving decision into action.
All of the above will also involve business partnering and problem-solving skills.

4. Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have experience in managing a variety of research challenges and methodologies, comfortable managing multiple brands, categories and stakeholders at the same time, strong business partnering skills and ability to think about the bigger picture. He/She will be inquisitive, challenge the status quo, think strategically and decipher multiple information sources into a succinct story and point of view. This candidate should have strong initiative, unlocking growth opportunities and driving it down into business actions. He or she will demonstrate a positive attitude can-do outlook, possess strong communication, persuasion and storytelling skills both written and verbal to work with different functions and regions.
? At least 5 years of experience in market research (agency partners or in-house experience)
? Good communication skills, fluent English for daily communication and good presentation skills
? Good project management skills
? Working knowledge in standard qualitative and quantitative methodologies
? Working knowledge of key measurement tools: Nielsen Retail data, Household Panel data, Millward Brown Tracking data
? Ability to guide and create research programmers and manage researches independently
? Skills on the level identified below
