Working alongside the Design Department, the Fabric Sourcing Teamlead will have to support the designers in finding the fabric and trims that they need. 

 The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• -      Visit to premier vision or other expos, fabric markets in china and find mills

• -      Source fabrics, trims, accessories and all raw materials

• -      Sourcing within price categories / delivery dates

• -      Follow up all selections to arrive once sourced 

• -      Pre-selection of fabric hangers with prices for sampling / production and related negotiations afterwards

• -      Launch lab dips / approve as necessary 

• -      Launch print / approve strike offs as necessary (Using freelance print designer) 

• -      Develop fabric as necessary

• -      Order all fabric and lining for sampling 

• -      Follow up and chase mills

• -      Request fabric specifications / create fabric washing and steaming tests – provide all to production

• -      Update boards with Fabric names, delivery dates, codes (working closely with production team), sampling production prices

• -      Add up all fabrics and trims into production software for correct costing

• -      Archiving records of developments and maintaining a catalogue/library of fabrics for company’s use

• -      Checking that the quantity delivered matches the quantity ordered and assuring timely deliveries

• -      Should have experience in a brand with similar aesthetics or a matching personal taste in order to be able to work under company’s vision

The Ideal Candidate

• -      Experience in Fabric Sourcing working for a specific brand or as an agent 

• -      Good network of suppliers and production units locally and overseas would be an added advantage

• -      College's or graduate degree in relevant subject matter

• -      Strong analytical and numerical skills (proficiency in Excel)

• -      Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)

• -      Meticulous attention to detail

• -      A natural ability to multi-task with strict adherence to deadlines
