JOB DESCRIPTION


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Participates as project member on a full range of projects.
  • Leads and performs requirements definition, analysis, functional design, and implementation of new or modified applications.
  • Contributes to complex application interface and integration.
  • Leads in the creation of test cases.
  • Tests for effective integration of new and existing applications.
  • Resolves business issues and recommends IT solutions.
  • Supports business process improvement through optimization of staff, process, and technology.
  • Applies understanding of the business functions, applications, and in-depth knowledge of technology.
  • Works with vendors and regional teams to ensure clear understanding of functionality issues.
  • Analyzes performance metrics and recommends application changes.
  • Work with other project or support teams to create integrated solution designs.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Develops, delivers and maintains quality IT solutions to support business processes, in line with IT guidelines and architectures. Balances clients' business requirements and preferred technical architecture. Recommends creative and innovative solutions to business or technical problems. Provides client support for operation systems consistent with service level agreements (SLA's). Ensures work is technically sound and in compliance with established standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Delivers timely results within budget. Simplifies or eliminates low value-added work processes.
  • Develops business cases using cost/benefit analysis.
  • Assists in estimating project costs for budgeting purposes. Recommends, plans and implements proof of concepts.
  • Takes active steps to increase understanding of clients' business environment, priorities and processes, and emerging technology issues.
  • Interfaces with customer and other relevant entities to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Interacts with vendors and regional teams on routine testing matters.
  • Analyzes and identifies core business processes for application design.
  • Communicates issues openly, honestly, and timely with peers, management and customers.
  • Makes presentations to stakeholders to help obtain buy-in and support.
  • Participates in the definition, implementation, and execution of best-practices.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES


Required:


· Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of business experience.

· 2+ years experience with business process design and improvement projects preferred.

· Experience in gathering business requirements.

· Ability to translate business process requirements into process, data and technology solutions.

· A proven track record of performance with at least 3 years of increasing technical responsibility.

· Demonstrated ability to excel in ambiguous situations

· Active inquiry skills.

· Strong written communication skills.

· Business Analyst experience, an asset.

· Experience and understanding of the processes supporting Exceed Warehouse Management System (WMS) is required.

· Experience in Freight Forwarding system advantageous.


Knowledge and Technical Skills

· Direct experience in Exceed WMS.

· EDI development skills desired.

· Knowledge of SQL database system is an asset.

· High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.

· Fluency in English and Chinese is required.

· Demonstrated ability to solve problems by investigation and engage with others to explore and develop pragmatic solutions to problems.

· Highly developed customer service orientation with the ability to establish effective working relationships and collaborative work approaches with internal external contacts.

· Keen organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize conflicting demands effectively under tight time constraints.

· Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
