Job description
The primary purpose of the Software Architect is to develop IBM software business in the GCG Electronics market. Responsibility for achieving revenue target and YTY growth. Is aligned with Brand Sales, S&D and Industry teams. Individual performs this function in such a way that builds value for the customer and facilitates opportunities for future sales. Deals will apply understanding of the processes in the Electronics industry operations.
Demonstrates strong business acumen, successful negotiation skills and strategic networking savvy to build and execute firm-wide strategies to meet overall revenue objectives.
Major Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
Drives new SW revenue by identifying opportunities, initiating and/or participating in pre-sales calls, delivering customized presentations
Manages the complete sales cycle for the specialized product lines, including working with customers, prospects and the account team, from the prospecting stage through closing and implementation.
Identifies and analyzes underlying customer business and sales issues
Act as an expert to the team IBM
Participates in lead generation activities
Build strong relationships with customers and create trust and confidence at multiple levels, including users, key contacts, managers and C-level executives, to increase revenue opportunities.
Required Skills:
Excellent understanding on IBM's Software capabilities and how to apply these succesfully in the Electronics Industry
Good understanding of the Electronics Industry (global and in GCG)
Ability to discuss with LoB excutives the value that can be created with our SW products
Capable to develop and maintain senior level relationships
Shaping and Closing Deals
Mandarin speaking
At least 5 years experience in experience in sales or consulting in the information technology industry for the Electronics industry
Education/Experience:
BSc required; or other advance degree preferred.
Five years or more of experience in sales or consulting in the information technology Industry related to Electronics
Proven track record in shaping and closing deals
Ability to operate in the highly complex IBM organisation of brands, industry vertical, countries etc.
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated ability to achieve strong sales, revenue and growth goals.
Outstanding negotiation skills
Thorough knowledge and understanding of IBM's SW capabilities and applying these in Electronics companies
Excellent presentation, writing and communications skills. Includes the ability to present solutions in a customer-facing environment in a communication style appropriate to the audience, which will include C-level executives.
High level of initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple activities and reprioritize when necessary to ensure revenue goals is achieved.
