Responsibilities / Duties

• Defines and conducts research on projects using advanced knowledge of scientific principles, theory, and experimental design within a scientific discipline.
• Develops and implement technical solutions through hands-on experimentation/problem-solving for research problems that are well defined within a project area.
• Consistently applies the Scientific Method in the planning and execution of experimental plans and problem solving.
• Formulate hypotheses and develops experimental plans to test hypotheses.
• Keeps current with developments in relevant area of technology.
• Serves as a peer coach and provides constructive advice on projects within the team.
• Proposes project proposal alignment to business strategies and objectives.
• Modifies communication appropriately to both internal and external audiences.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of team alignment with R&D and Business goals.

Engineered Materials, Product Development, DPS

Description

• The role will be responsible for providing new technical solution and product development for thermal managements, protectives and adhesives for electronics industry.
• Provide the fine-tuned formulations and performance improved products for customer unmet needs.
• It will cover the identification and execution of customer opportunity by working with TS&D, marketing and commercial organization; interfacing with the regional and global PD for development work and collaborating with process engineering for new product scale-up
• Hands-on: It will also include lab work for the product development and formulation optimization, lab equipment maintenance and management, lab capability build-up, etc.;
• Travel for this role is expected to be at ~5%.

Qualifications

• Doctor degree in Polymer Science/Material Science/Chemical Engineering or related disciplines is required.
• Prior experience in a similar position (at least 3-5 years), good knowledge in polymer chemistry, thermal management, adhesives basics and applications etc.
• Work experience in product development in Thermal Conductive Adhesives, Gels, Pottants, Sealants or Conformal Coating is a plus.
• Business sense: Able to understand customer needs and define the customer unmet needs where a new product is required.
• Innovation: Good problem analysis and problem solving capability targeting on the customer unmet needs.
• Passion and Motivation: Must be self-motivated, looking for product development needs from new applications or improving in current applications.
• Good communication skills:” Must be able to make high quality presentations to stake holders or external customers in a professional manner.
• Good team work with cross functional team: Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders from multiple backgrounds (TS&D, Sales, Marketing, Process and Engineering).
• Good team work with global product development team: Ability to partner and communicate with global expert to fast deliver the technical solution
