GENERAL SUMMARY:
? Ownership of brand store design direction for look & feel of store environment.
? Ownership of store design initiatives for new stores, remodels, templates, and fixtures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Assist Senior Manager's and/or Manager's of Store Design in achieving the department goals.
? Provide layout gutchecks, feasibilities and presentation work, which include space planning plans and elevations in CADD and renderings of retail projects for both internal and external business partners.
? Development of new fixture design, which include reviewing and approval of shop drawings, prototyping and execution.
? Help support store design department on the evolution and management of store aesthetic, design standards, tools and templates.
? Ability to have a global point of view and influence department strategies and implementation.
? Perform checks of all team members' projects, which include consultant(s) to ensure complete coordination and manifestation of department design standards.
? Responsible for making decisions with help of manager's to resolve any store design issues and communicate out to key business partners and internal leadership when appropriate.
? Ensure scope changes / updates are included in run-rate costs in a timely manner.
? Help with Value Engineering: Through template development and new fixture development, ensure the filter of value engineering is active with Creative leadership team(s), Procurement and CA&C. Help set annual metrics to meet and reduce costs.
? Partner with Corporate Architecture & Construction (CA&C) to provide all Creative Services (Initiative) schedule information.
? Project site visit as required with approval from manager to review, evaluates and approved design standard and intent are implemented during construction execution and turn-over.
? Prepare, communicate and educate internal and external business partners and team on changes in design standards, policies and practices within the organization.
CROSS-DIVISIONAL LEAD
? Cross-divisional team support in some design initiatives pertaining to store environment and fixtures.
? Department support contact and liaison between Senior Management and Design team for issues to do with new design initiatives (this includes Merchandising, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Real Estate / Property Development, Finance, and Corporate Architecture and Construction).
TEAM DEVELOPMENT
? Supporting member of our high performing design team, which can include external consultants.
FIELD AND HQ SUPPORT:
? Strategic source to address critical business initiatives and processes having to do with new store environment and fixtures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
Summary of Experience:
? Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design or Interior Design.
? Prefer background in architecture, interior and/or industrial design, with emphasis on some specialty retail projects.
? Minimum 4-5 years experience in design with 2-3 years retail experience.
? Strong grounding in design, design direction, process development and cross-functional collaboration.
? Some management in outside architectural, MEP and other design institute consultants.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? Bilingual Mandarin / English: Required to speak and write English clearly to partner with all business partners including those in the USA.
? Cantonese speaking is highly preferred, but not required.
? Ability to create innovative designs by interpreting design objectives into unique and varied store and real estate locations.
? Excellent understanding of proportion and ability to translate ideas, forms, and functions into cohesive design concepts with minimal supervision.
? Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross functional projects and activities
? Demonstrated success in problem solving by the ability to communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formats.
? Demonstrated ability in industry trends, building and health codes, 3D visualization, and color and design principles
? Ability to create, understand and translate three-dimensional concepts into cohesive design. Design sketching and drawing ability.
? Demonstrated ability using AutoCAD, Sketch-up software, Adobe Photoshop and Creative Suites, 3D Modeling and Renderings software.
? Knowledge of architectural building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical) and their impact on design, detailing, and code requirements.
? Ability to execute multiple designs under tight deadlines.
? Travel is required.
