Production controller of fabrics and leather.

Resume of the assignment:

You will be working under direct management of the country manager and you will also receive directions of purchase department for fabrics (NL).  He/she is primarily responsible for the quality with regards to all fabrics/pu and leathers that are produced in China and that these will be delivered on time. He/she will have to communicate with our producers of the materials as well as with our suppliers of the upholstered seating furniture. He/she will report daily on the checked quality of fabrics and leather and action points that will follow from this. 

 

Responsibilities within this position/function.

1)   Responsible for checking and assessing the quality of fabrics and leather in China.

2)   Responsible for the communication with the producers and suppliers in China.

3)   Responsible for making the quality reports and providing them to NL.

4)   Responsible for setting up and implementing improvement projects.

5)   Responsible for following up the production orders and that everything is delivered on time.

6)   Responsible that the goods are loaded correctly and that these goods arrive in good condition at the suppliers and at Habufa NL.

7)   Responsible for following up on any claims regarding agreements made on poor quality of fabrics and leather.

In addition to the operational quality and production tasks, the administrative tasks must also be accurately followed up.  Such as, for example the stocks at the suppliers and at the producers and be able to ad hoc switch between these parties. The person we are looking for should always strive for the highest attainable quality and efficiency and enjoys solving challenges. He/she also has the quality of affection for the quality of fabrics and leather and is constantly working on improving the quality of fabrics/leather where necessary.  In this position the production controller is a spider in the web where he/she is in constant communication with the factories and suppliers.

Tasks:

·       Visit suppliers to check the quality of goods.

·       Visit producers and suppliers if they are experiencing any problems with the quality of the goods.

·       Making quality reports in English.

·       Weekly skype / telephone conversations with the Office in the Netherlands (in English).

·       Weekly communication regarding stock with suppliers and producers.

·       Checking ship samples (color samples) in relation to the P-sample (native language).

·       Check samples of productions.

·       Make sure that the factories process the materials correctly.

·       Support in communication between suppliers and factories.

·       Analyse the faults in the production process and anticipate on that.

·       Be present at loading at producers and provide reports on it.

Required knowledge, skills and characteristics:

·       Good in English language (writing and speaking).

·       Able to provide clear quality reports.

·       Able to maintain a good relationship with both suppliers as producers.

·       Technical knowledge about fabrics/pu/leather is a must.

·       Constantly looking for improvement.

·       Traveling shouldn’t be a problem as the factories/suppliers are often far apart (also traveling to NL occasionally will be part of the job)

Place of employment Jiaxing Tongxiang but able to travel to Shanghai and Guangzhou area.
