Fabric Sourcing Director - Shanghai


Overview of the position:
Report to the Raw Material Team Leader, the Fabric Sourcing Director is responsible for overseeing all fabric development related matters for in-region materials used by PVH. Make certain that these materials used by PVH can achieve delivery at the required level of performance, at the best price to ensure the scale and sustainable growth of PVH.


Major Responsibilities :
- Accountable for identifying and researching/ developing pre-season work, find new mills, pre-season trends and innovation. This includes researching any new finishes, fibers or chemicals offered by mills in the region
- Work directly with brand and product development teams to understand future development needs
- Responsible for training and actions of the fabric sourcing team; ultimately accountable for team meeting all goals and adhering to the Corporate, Global Supply Chain and Raw Materials team objectives
- Lead the team to build effective sourcing capabilities with targeted mills to cover new trends and seasonal collections in the region. Implement sustainable sourcing strategies as advised by the Global Supply Chain Raw Material objective
- Aligning development with mill matrix and ensure developments are able to sustain the required level of performance and at the best price
- Support PVH New York team and other offshore offices on fabric issues in the region
- Build and maintain a fabric library of materials

Qualification :
- University graduate in Textile Technology/ Fashion or related discipline
- 10 years or above fabric merchandising or related working experience
- Thorough knowledge of knits, woven, yarn, dyeing and finishing
- Possess strong communication skill and the ability to manage through influence
- Well understand about the total supply chain from Concept to Consumer
- Good in both spoken and written English with a minimum level of 6 in CET
- Positive, with strong leadership skill
- Previous working experience in US buying office an advantage
