Responsibilities:

·         To manage equipment maintenance and calibration in failure analysis labs

·         Be familiar with reliability test condition to support failure mainly from reliability testing perspective

·         To support mechanical failure analysis from product level reliability testing

·         To perform Materials Analysis on component level (after teardown)

1)     Failure Analysis

a)     Evaluate electrical, thermal and mechanical characteristics of integrated circuits, components, sub-components and systems to determine root cause of failure.

b)    Provide timely failure analysis on failed components at part level or material level

c)     To support mechanical failure analysis from product level reliability testing

d)    Coordinate failure analysis with other disciplines as necessary to lead to determination of root cause

e)     Ensure materials and failure analysis capabilities required to support advanced process technology and product development are in place.

f)      Identify optimum analytical approaches critical to problems.

g)    Create Interim & Create Final reports within the agreed timelines.

h)    Interaction with devices suppliers to understand the failures at their test locations and coordinate to determine the root cause.

2)     Failure Analysis Lab Management

a)     To manage equipment maintenance and calibration in failure analysis labs

b)    Support Lab Operational Improvement efforts to optimize the test methods

c)     Plan and improve failure analysis capability and capacity continuously

Qualifications and Requirements:  

·         Bachelor degree majored in Electrical or Mechanical or Materials Engineering or a related field such as Micro Electronics, Optical Engineering or Industrial Engineering

·         Hands on Experience on various FA Equipment and processes - OMM, CT300, X-ray, Cross-sectioning, SEM, EDX, X-ray, FTIR, Metallographic Microscopes

·         Experience in using Physics of Failure based approach to understand the failure mechanism

·         Experience in Materials Testing

·         Strong communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms and to develop and follow test documentation such as plans, procedures and reports
