GENERAL SUMMARY: 

  

The role assists in the daily operation and implementation of various HR policies and procedures in the Shanghai Gap Inc. office. This HR Assistant role particularly focuses on Compensation & Benefits (C&B) and Recruitment.  And also helps to drive employee engagement and the culture of Gap Inc.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  

Recruitment & On-Boarding

  

  • Source candidates, schedule and conduct interviews

  • Ensure the successful processing and onboarding of new employees

  • Daily HRIS Maintenance

              

Employee Relations

  

  • Assist employee communication and HR activities

  • Act as a resource on HR policies and procedures for both Managers and employees

  • Coach employees and support HRBP on HR related issues

  • Support administration and analysis of the Employee Opinion Survey

  • Ensure the facilitation of Learning and Development programs

          

Employee Life Cycle


  • Collaborate with vendor for new hire labor contract, health check, payroll distribution and

employee contract renewal             



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  

  1. Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  

  • Extensive knowledge of China labor law

  • Solid understanding of HR policies and practices – particularly around C&B and Recruiting

  • Ability to understand, analyze and apply data to improve HR policies

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work across cultures

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Strong level of initiative and ability to be proactive

  • Ability to communicate in both Chinese and English (oral and written)

  • Microsoft Office (User experience in PeopleSoft  is a plus)

                   

  1. Minimum educational level:

  

  • University degree preferably in Human Resources or related.

     

  1. Minimum experience:

  

  • 0-2 years of work experience as an HR Generalist;

  • Multinational or retail company experience preferred.
