The Test Engineer, under general direction, will scope, define, develop, analyze and supervise tests for appliance components, subsystems or products. The Test Engineer will collaborate with multi-functional team members and assume responsibility for developing design validation plans, test protocols, and test equipment for both new product development and improvement of existing product lines. The Test Engineer leverages broad technical experience and analytical skillsets to make decisions based on accurate, statistically significant datasets. The position requires proficiency with risk assessment and root cause analysis methods, data analytics and statistics, agile project management, and an understanding of thermo-fluidic and electro-mechanical devices and systems. Comfort working in a highly dynamic and collaborative work environment is a must.

What you will do:

  • Develop and execute validation plans for Keurig brewer technologies and products spanning front-end research and downstream product development at the subcomponent, subsystem and system levels

  • Enhance Keurig’s testing infrastructure for end to end validation of brewer electronics, firmware and electro-mechanical systems

  • Utilize the voice of the consumer as a guide to build test cases, methods and tools delivering results that inform and validate product design decisions

  • Identify, assess and manage risk to influence preventative measures, validation activities and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Direct testing contracted to third party laboratories ensuring data accuracy and adherence to test protocols

  • Develop and apply automated test methods and data acquisition tools when appropriate to replace manual processes

  • Author, review and circulate test reports. Compare and interpret results of tests against specifications and/or historical data. Ensure validity and completeness of test data and reports and solve testing problems as they arise

  • Continually assess and recommend efficiency, speed or capability improvements to engineering labs in response to shifting program or organizational needs

  • Lead FMEA events and drive risk mitigation strategies to reduce cost, technical or schedule risk through design, modeling or testing activities

  • Engage and interact with test technicians to educate on new and existing test protocols and equipment

  • Perform all tasks in accordance with established Safe Work Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems

  • Follow all Keurig policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

What you must have:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or a related technical degree required. Software or systems engineering preferred but not required
  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience
  • Self-motivated and results oriented approach with a demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Continuous improvement and LEAN mentality
  • Ability to multitask and maintain focus on priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience with system integration testing on embedded software/firmware
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis using systematic problem solving and JMP or Minitab software
  • Knowledge of lean product development tools. Six Sigma, Certified Quality or Reliability Engineer or equivalent certification highly desired

  • Familiarity with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies, DFMEA, Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R)

  • Experience managing technical projects in the consumer product or similar industry
