We are looking for an experienced Merchandiser, with commercial experience and a background in Merchandising preferably with trading company, who will work in our China office-Dong Guan.
As a Sourcing Merchandiser, your primary focus will be to source and evaluate reputable factories to ensure the company can offer a market leading service that delivers on price, quality and speed. You will also be required tocarry out factory visit and evaluations on factories on their quality, production and technical standards.


You will work closely with, and assist the Sourcing Manager, to ensure the sourcing team are providing 'fast-to-market' solutions, to improve efficiencies and effectiveness which will result in entrepreneurial product development and increased sales.


You will also work closely with current factories in China to ensure they can achieve the fastest pricing and sample making process.


In this role, you should have the following personal profile:
· Written and oral fluency in English and Mandarin, Cantonese will be preferred.
· Knowledge and experience of factory quality systems
· Excellent communication skills with a natural ability to build strong relationships
· A strong ability to influence and negotiate
· Exceptional problem solving skills and solution-oriented.
· Superb organiser with a professional and mature manner
· Work well within a team and action-oriented.

Your key responsibilities for this role are as follows:


Supplier and Product Sourcing
· Assisting the Sourcing Manager to use the Master Factory List to source suppliers who can provide great quality at competitive prices to MAPA.
· Evaluate all factory showrooms and pro-actively offer samples and costs for items that you think could be commercially viable
Travel to suppliers to build strong relationships with existing and new factories and agree commercially viable terms and conditions.
Liaise with suppliers to obtain information about their other customers and their products and to get a strong understanding of the full range of products the supplier can manufacture and supply.
Assisting the Sourcing Manager to perform benchmarking and cost analysis to make certain products are of good quality and priced competitively.
Supplier Management
Assisting the Sourcing Manager to regularly review all existing suppliers terms and conditions, to assess whether improvements can be agreed, including improved product quality, better prices and delivery.
Work to continually develop and improve good working relationships with suppliers.
Assisting the Sourcing Manager to identify key suppliers who are able to take on more business from us and thus increase economies of scale.
Assisting the Sourcing Manager to continuously measure preferred supplier's performance, to guarantee good quality products are delivered on time.


Team Activities
Assisting the Sourcing Manager to co-ordinate with Merchandising and PDP(Product Development) teams to ensure smooth and efficient workflow in the business.
Communicate effectively with the Sourcing Manager and other Team mates to ensure processes and efficiencies are always reviewed and amended where appropriate.
