Day to Day Responsibilities:

Provide mechanical engineering analysis expertise to project teams that are responsible to deliver robust, cost effective equipment, automation and machine systems to Corning’s manufacturing plants and processes.  

Work with project team members to solve automation system and equipment related problems and develop basic understanding of process requirements.

Defines and documents equipment design specifications, develops equipment design concepts, design and follows construction of prototype and production equipment, conducts proof of concept tests, collects and evaluates data, and makes engineering recommendations.

Interface with external machine builders, systems integrators, and suppliers to specify and successfully deliver fully integrated equipments systems to the internal customers on-time, on-budget, and in satisfaction of process performance measures.

Actively participates in system integration, check-out, installation, debug, production start-up, and training of plant personnel.

Report on project activities on a pre-determined basis.  Ensure results meet the customer’s requirements and standards.

Job requires periodically travel to Corning Incorporated and vendors locations in Asia and USA for process development for new products, new operation and process improvement projects.

Individual must be capable of executing project assignments with minimal supervision.

  

Education & Experience

5~8+ Major in engineering department with BS or above degree - Mechanical, Aeronautic related

3+ years in precision equipment design and engineering

3+ international project experience involving new product development and new precision equipment development, prototyping, debug and optimization.

Experience in manufacturing or production.

3+ Project leading experience
