About Our Client

Our client's global operations include a well-developed network in US, Europe and APAC. Our client is known for providing the unique content of high quality business market information, best industry events, professional analysis of financial news, and interviews with business leaders. They are now planning to further grow the team in Shanghai office and looking for experienced Sales candidates with media or TV background. Advanced communications skills as well as solid understanding of government relations and practices will be required.

Job Description

The main responsibilities of Account Director will include:

  • Providing timely updates on business development and client meetings;

  • Meeting agreed quarterly / annual revenue goals;

  • Generating new revenue streams and maximising client retention in China and Asia;

  • Managing client and agency relationships;

  • Other duties as assigned by the line manager;

The Successful Applicant

Successful candidate's profile will include:

  • Solid commercial experience in media or TV industry in China.

  • Good understanding of government relations and practices, strong connection with a proven track record. Good relationship with central/provincial/municipal government level of bureaus/companies or project/events experience at the national level is a plus. Ability to demonstrate results by meeting sales targets.

  • Experience managing Accounts and delivering strong year on year growth in sales and margin.

  • Experience of working on digital with a good knowledge and understanding of digital sales.

  • Strong understanding of branded content across TV & digital.

  • Must have a good understanding of the sales cycle, being able to connect with and understand client needs.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills - ability to listen and tailor plans to customer's needs.

  • Willingness to travel frequently within the PRC and across the Asia Pacific region (when necessary)

  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
