Advisory Software Engineer - Platform Computing
Summary
The role of the Professional Services (PS) Technical Consultant is to work primarily with our client in Manufacture Industry, Financial Services, and Public Sector & Education areas, to realize the optimum business value from our company's core high performance Technical Computing products and services.
The Consultant will be required to help deliver implementation and/or configuration services such as: packaged installation/configuration services of our products; ISV or internal application integrations and add-on product/services. The Consultant will also need to be able to provide informal and formal classroom training to clients. Additional design and consultancy services like our Enterprise Grid Center of Excellence (CoE) service and our "trusted advisor" and assessment services can help clients plan and design successful, major enterprise grid implementations. We also can provide development, quality assurance and project management services to implement these designs.
Reporting to a PS Delivery Manager, the Consultant will be required to travel up to 50% of the time, mostly within GCG/APAC and possibly NA/Europe and other international locations as needed, which is dependent on client assignments. The expectation is the Consultant will be doing at least 60% client billable work (usually on-site/ sometimes off-site) and when not on billable engagements, working on developing new offerings to generate future revenue or learning new skills
Responsibilities
- Client service delivery: custom software development, provide virtual and on-site training, best practices/consulting advice, project management, internal co-ordination across Platform departments, ensure quality of service, creation of documentation/reports, getting customer sign-off/acceptance
- Pre-sales assistance: prospect qualification, project scoping, SOW creation, identify up-sell opportunities within existing projects (products, PS and training),
- Professional services practice: assist with implementing best practices within the department, enable scalable services, increase efficiency and automation, develop ideas for new services, etc.
Required Skills
- Bachelor or master's Degree
- At least 2 years experience in programming experience in C/C++ and/or Java; knowledge of scripting
- At least 1 year hands-on experience in client facing professional services consulting, ideally working for a software company (vendor)
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to articulate solutions to management as well as technical client resources
- Expertise to support customer in EDA, Aerospace or Manufacture Industry
- Readiness to travel 25% travel annually
- English: Fluent oral and written English

- Master's Degree in Engineering
- At least 5 years experience in programming experience in C/C++ and/or Java; knowledge of scripting
- At least 3 years experience in client facing professional services consulting
- At least 3 years experience in work with a major enterprise size company
- At least 3 years experience in Work with Financial Services Sector
