Job description
Candidate drives results for IBM through the successful licensing of Intellectual Property assets and/or establishment of joint development relationships between external firms and IBM Research, Microelectronics, Systems & Software Group. This involves the identification of assets from IBM, development of a business strategy and business case/value proposition for the development or monetization of IP asset, identification of potential licensees or development partners, and execution of an agreement between IBM and the external party.
A leading candidate exhibits entrepreneurial behavior and builds solid relationships while managing negotiations within the external company and internal IBM teams, predominately with senior executive management.
Success involves helping to influence the external company, or IBM's, strategy as appropriate based on analysis of market and competitive intelligence, creating business cases that meet budget targets, using various IBM tools and financial analysis techniques in the opportunity qualification, assessment and execution process.
Required Skills
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Experience in Business development and/or technology-IP sales
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Engineering
5 years experience in Business development and/or technology-IP sales experience
5 years experience in Experience personally closing multi-million dollar deals
At least 3 years experience in working across IBM business units
