Key responsibilities

This laboratory scientist will play a role in supporting the rapid growth of the Packaging and Specialty Plastics business of the Dow Chemical Company in north Asia.

- Work as a laboratory scientist, supporting the Packaging and Specialty Plastics TS&D team in north Asia.

- Main responsibilities include: laboratory equipment operation, test sample submission and tracking, as well as data/report communication.

- Provide lab trainings to sales and marketing colleagues.

- Internal communication with technical and commercial team members. Occasional field trip to customers.

Experience qualifications

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, material sciences or Polymer Science disciplines.

- Minimum 2 years of work experience, preferably with international companies.

- Basic understandings in the general area of polymer science and engineering, e.g. polymer chemistry, polymer physics, polymer processing and rheology, polymer characterization etc.

- This role requires proficient Mandarin language. Good English reading, writing and speaking capability is a plus.

Soft skills qualifications

- Self motivated. Sense of ownership. Can-do attitude.

- Can drive a project from beginning to the end under proposed time frame. Can set timeline and prioritize multiple projects.

- Good interpersonal skills. Can work comfortably in a team setting. Able to motivate and positively influence team members.

- Good writing and presentation skills. Good English reading, writing and speaking capability is a plus.
