Job Description


This is a newlycreated role to support ASM's growing operations in China. The role will be based in the Legal Department and is directly under the supervision of the Legal Director & General Counsel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing legal administration functions for ASM, particularly in China. Depending on experience and competence of the candidate, the legal administration function will include the following areas of coverage:
? Understand, follow and enforce Legal Department policies and procedures.
? Advise on legal issues involving the Group's compliance with China regulations and laws.
? Anticipate and guard against legal risks involving the organization.
? Coordinate legal matters handled by external counsel.
? Work on legal issues where independent judgment is required, in order to determine appropriate action.
? Receive little or no instructions on routine work and some general instructions on new projects.
? Recommend changes to organizational policies/procedures involving legal issues.


Experience and Skills Requirements:
? Degree in Law from a recognized and good ranking university in China (985 and 211 universities preferred) is essential
? Strong experience on commercial transactions and contract negotiations would be advantageous
? Good verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English.
? Good problem solving skills.
? Good organizational and multi-tasking skills.
? Good knowledge of legal decision making and legal research skills.
? Ability to work well with colleagues.
? Ability to work independently and as a team player.
? Ability to resolve conflicts effectively and efficiently.
