MAIN JOB PURPOSE

Support Site Leader in activities that ensure excellence, consistency, simplicity and lack of duplication in processes related to R&D operation in the region. This will involved driving new improvement initiatives.

Drive operational excellence and existing common ways of working in the R&D category and operations. Lead and champion selected common activities in U66. May work in partnership with other functions.

Will be involved in change or improvement agenda items. Where appropriate will lead the development of new initiated projects that cut across categories.

Interface and work with Information and Management (I&T) Team on landing agreed I&T activities/projects in the region.

The individual will have a role in Site Safety facilities and with the SHE Specialist from Supply Chain to bring safety up to the next level within R&D at site.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

a) Contact point and lead initiatives with I&T team
This include
- R&D Academy - Learning Demand and Planning cross categories in GCEA.
- Fusion/LIMS in selected sites.

b) U66 LIMS Site activation Leader
- Principle point of contact for Site Leadership and I&T Deployment Team
- Define and deliver site Activation Plan
- Establish and Chair site CoP and manage site based user support (change and Issues) processes with support partners.
- Empowered to make decide on authorisations for access and changes to data and information.

- Identify, drives and start new improvement initiatives or projects in the region with Site Leader and will be part of the global Operations network team for selected global OpEx initiatives.

d) Site Safety Coordinator
Support the R&D Site Leader and Site R&D Management in delivering a Safe environment for R&D via managing SHE effectively on site and in accordance to UL Safety Framework and R&D GCEA Safety initiatives.

e) CAPEX
- Support overall CapEx management by owning, developing and updating the overview list.
- Liaison with all R&D categories on CAPEX is expected.
Both these will be done in collaboration with R&D Finance.

f) Key Contact for facility team from SC
Principle contact point for Site Leadership and facility management (in collaboration with Unilever
SC team) on matters related to site.

g) New Continuous improvements initiatives
- Identify, drives and start new improvement initiatives at site.
- Drives most optima cost in the way we run R&D operations i.e in the area of logistic and shipments, clearances of imports, exports.
- May be required to lead a Lab management.

h) Work with Site Leader and Directors in driving sustainability agenda in U66.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Education:
At least first degree level: In Science, Engineering or IT discipline.

Profile:
A strong leader with a track record in leading teams (direct or indirect reports) and change management, self starter with excellent communication & influencing skills.

Min. 5 years proven experience in the following areas:
- Understanding and experience in holistic R&D development process through the chain of Design and Deploy, Supply Chain or Planning
- Working with an international company
- Experience in Implementing system and processes.
- Good Project management
- Team leadership
- Advanced communication skills and a proven ability to interact across a range of functions and external partners
- Able to work with teams either reporting or not reporting effectively.
