Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting the Procurement Manager Innovation Sourcing & New Business Development with the procurement of: innovative new materials, products & services. This portfolio will include procurement of design and development, component and finished products manufacturing and supply and contract distribution channels.
- The main accountabilities of the role will be to:
- Support the Procurement Manager Innovation Sourcing & New Business Development with:
§ Understanding Unilever's requirements for innovative new materials, products & services.
§ Understanding the global supply markets for innovative new materials, products & services. Scouting/ assessing supply markets with OI/ R&D.
§ Developing and implementing global innovative new materials, products and services supply strategies.
§ Negotiating deals for innovative new materials, products & services.
§ Managing alliances/ relationships with key innovative new materials, products & services suppliers/ complementors.
§ Business-partnering the Water Business Unit.
- The key elements of support required will be:
§ Tracking and reporting projects progress/ status. Project managing Procurement's delivery on each project.
§ Understanding and analyzing supply markets. Collating a database of suppliers and their capabilities.
§ Developing commercial analyses to support negotiations (supported by Finance).
§ Developing business cases (supported by Finance).
§ Managing contracts text details to closure.
§ Contracts administration; ensuring schedule of authority compliance through the Domino system, securing signatures and organising correct storage.
§ Co-ordinating meetings preparation and actions management.
- Key decisions which cannot be taken at the lower level and need not be taken at the higher level:
- The kind of business decisions which need not be taken at the higher level are limited. However, a high degree of initiative is required in this role.
- The most critical decisions that this role-holder will support are:
§ Supplier selection decisions; whether each project will succeed or fail rests heavily on the decision of which suppliers to work with.
§ Negotiation strategy; the commercial success of each project will heavily depend on this.

- Must be a strong executor.
- Must be able to work independently and virtually.
- Some travel.
• Professional skills required:
- Strong professional Procurement skills.
- Strong Technical understanding.
- Project management.
• Minimum desired education level:
- Degree required.
• Previous experience:
- Previous challenging Procurement Assistant Management roles.
