BU Description
CDL GTS Offerings Development is the core development team within IBM globally, focusing on Cloud offerings, such as IBM Smart Cloud Enterprise, IBM Smart Cloud Enterprise Plus, IBM Smart Business Desktop Cloud, Self-Enablement Portal, etc, which covers IaaS, PaaS and SaaS in cloud. These cloud offerings are IBM strategic Cloud offerings, which are based on IBM leading products of WebSphere, Tivoli, Information Management and Rational, with leveraging latest technologies on SOA, Web2.0, Business Analytics. The CDL team is responsible for the offerings project management, architecture, development, quality assurance, maintenance and technical support, and most of the leaders are taking global leadership positions now.
Job Responsibilities
This individual will be an experienced, creative and enthusiastic performance engineering specialist with good testing, problem determination and performance analysis skills. The successful candidate will be working with a group of highly motivated performance engineers who are responsible for testing, measuring, analyzing and tuning the performance of IBM cloud related projects. The specific focus will be ensuring that the system being delivered meets the performance and scalability requirements of the project through systematic end-to-end testing, tuning and optimization.
Analyze and design workload for testing.
Use standard performance test procedures and build reusable performance test kits and processes to continuously validate performance enhancements.
Develop and execute performance test scripts using workload simulation tools either in test or production environments.
Work on baseline test, benchmark test, load test, stress test, and endurance test on business solutions for both IBM internal and external customers.
Performance problems troubleshooting, profiling, monitoring and tuning using a variety of tools.
Performance test results analysis, reporting and defects tracking.
Capacity planning for production systems.
Performance testing consultancy service for customers.
Job Requirements (skills/experiences)
Have minimum of 8 years hands on experience in Performance architecting or testing for enterprise level deployments
Strong development and on-the-spot debugging experience is a plus.
Strong Unix (Linux, AIX) or Windows system administration experience.
In-depth understanding of distributed systems (Web based applications).
Network, Middleware(application server, database, etc.), JVM, J2EE, JavaScript, and XML technical knowledge highly desirable.
Strong skills in using any of the load testing tools (IBM Rational Performance Tester, HP Loadrunner).
Strong experiences in system monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Good skills on Linux shell or Windows command-line scripting.
Ability to work with development team to develop software, and the delivery team to ensure the product is deliverable.
Experience in building solutions working with other architects such as network, storage, virtualization, monitoring and Web commerce
Be able to adjust quickly to changes.
Knowledge of Cloud Computing is desirable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Demonstrated technical leadership and experience in collaboration with WW teams
Ability to grasp new concepts and technologies quickly
Qualifications(Education/Major/Certificates)
M.S. or above in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering.
At least 8 years experience in Performance Architecture/Development
