Job description
IBM China Systems & Technology Lab is seeking outstanding software engineers to join the NEW System z Software Development organization responsible for design, code development and test of System z software products. This team is an integral part of the STG System z global team and these are technically challenging and high growth opportunities. In addition, Greater China is a major contributor for Mainframe revenue and new footprints in the growth markets and our technical team will support this continued strategy.
HCM(Hardware Configuration Manager) is a PC-based (Windows) client/server interface to HCD, which is a graphical application and allows you to define hardware configuration for processor, processor's channel subsystem and the operating system running on the processor.
The responsibility includes but not limited to HCM development, FVT and service for the product. For example:
Analyze requirement, design the best solution for customers;
Co-work with local development and testing teams, as well as the worldwide team and user community;
Implement complex user requirements, FVT test and deliver HCM product on schedule, budget and quality;
Troubleshoot, debug and solve problems.
Required Skills:
1. Excellent programming in C/C++;
2. Familiar with Visual Studio 2005/2010, MFC framework;
3. Experience in 32-bit and 64-bit Client/Server GUI application development for Windows;
4. Familiar with Windows platform including 32-bit and 64-bit operating system; or familiar with UNIX/Linux C development
5. Strong problem solving capability;
6. Programming skill in Java is plus;
7. Good English communication and worldwide cooperation and teamwork;
8. Quick learning capability.
Other preferred skills or experiences:
Master's degree with 3 ~ 5 years of development experience;
Experience in application development from 32-bit to 64-bit on Windows platform;
Mainframe hardware IO configuration knowledge is a plus;
Experience in GUI application automation test framework.
