Job description
z/OS Consolidated Service Test (CST) tests all of the recently closed maintenance/fixes on the z/OS stack (z/OS and all of the key products that run on it) together in a customer-like environment. Then the team makes a monthly and quarterly recommendation to the z/OS customers on maintenance that has been tested and identifies problems that have been found. Most z/OS customers use these recommendations (Recommended Service Upgrades) as a methodology for how they update their systems.
This position is for a team member in the central CST team, that maintains the test environments (a mix of z/OS releases and System z hardware, including the latest available) and coordinates the overall mission. This team works with an extended team of product reps in many different product areas and locations, to accomplish the monthly testing. CST has a well-defined process, and has regular communication with one of top zOS customers in the world.
Knowledge of z/OS and some of zVM would be beneficial for this position. The team also needs someone with Unix and web skills.
Required Skills:
REQUIRED: More than 1-year experience working on z/OS
REQUIRED: Have conceptual & operational knowledge of z/OS infrastructure (hardware/software)
REQUIRED: Quick learner
REQUIRED: Proficient in English, both written and oral
REQUIRED: Be able to work in a multi-geography team.
REQUIRED: A good team player
If you don't have any experience on z/OS, below two are required:
REQUIRED: Familiar with UNIX/Linux-like operating systems (better lower-level)
REQUIRED: Have knowledge of system programming (e.g. assembler)
PREFERRED: Any knowledge on zVM and zLinux would also be a benefit.
PREFERRED: Experience in a multi-national enterprise is a plus
