Job Description
GMU ATS Storage Architect is required to lead Storage Solution Design in growth market countries. Around 50% travel time will be required. Candidate needs to demonstrate leadership and ability to effectively bridge IBM worldwide resources and location teams to roll out new initiatives, handle complex account situations and to lead storage win-backs against competition. An ideal candidate would also be able to discuss storage solutions and lead a discussion about how our storage products integrate with various other applications and solutions (e.g. Microsoft Exchange, VMWare, Oracle, DB2, etc).

Candidate should have solid in-depth technical skills and thorough understanding of various IBM storage solutions and good understanding of Storage System Software if possible. An ideal candidate should have proven track record in building storage solutions involving Disk Storage, Tape Libraries, SAN Network and System Software. In addition, candidate should have working knowledge to use various performance/capacity related tools such as Diskmagic, CapacityMagic to do storage sizing; use performance monitor tools like PDCU, TPC and RMF to analyze performance data; experience with design and delivery of logical configurations to achieve high performance results for customer applications and copy services. Candidate should be able to design and implement disaster recovery solutions like MetroMirror/GlobalMirror/MetroGlobalMirror/Flashcopy, and also be familiar with TPC for replication. Candidate should be able to configure host attachment/multipath management solutions on various OS like AIX/HP-UX/Solaris, Windows, Linux, zOS and i OS. Candidate should have good understanding of IBM Storage playbook and should have solid understanding of IBM Storage Solution competitive advantages over competitive offering at EMC/HDS/HP etc.

Candidate will be responsible for pre-sales technical support, solution design, capacity planning, solution demo, proof of concept, benchmark tests and major account client satisfaction issue handling etc. In addition, GMU ATS is also responsible for advanced technical skills deployment at GMU countries, including local ATS, FTSS, SA, BP etc. Ability to drive positive team work among peers, location teams, sales teams and management team is critical.

Required Skills
Have 5+ years working experience on IBM Storage Products - mandatory
With 1+ years working experience in Global or Cross-country role - preferred
IBM GTS or Lab Services background in creating storage solutions - preferred
Development laboratory or application developer experience considered
Strong communication skills and comfortable in front of customers leading discussions
In-depth or hands-on experience in the following area:
- IBM Disk Storage solutions
- IBM Tape Storage solutions
- IBM SAN Network solutions (including SVC)
- IBM System Software solutions
- Copy Service(Flashcopy/MetroMirror/GlobalMirror/MetroGlobalMirror/zGM)
- Advance Function Like EasyTier/ThinProvisioning/OpenSwap
- AIX / HP-UX / Solaris / Linux / Windows/ zOS/ i OS
- Tivoli Storage Productivity Center (including TPC for Replication)
- Performance analyze/sizing tool such as PDCU/TPC/RMFmagic/DiskMagic/CapacityMagic
- Demo / presentation skills
- Competitive Analysis skills
Good command of English (both written and spoken) is critical
Good command of Mandarin (both written and spoken) desired but not critical
Good communication skills and strong leadership

Required
Bachelor's Degree
At least 5 years experience in Have 5+ years working experience on IBM Storage Products - mandatory
