About Our Client
Our client is a sourcing office with a combined turnover of USD 5 billion. The company began manufacturing packaging product in 1940's and has grown to become one of the world's leading companies in packaging industry.
Job Description
1. Lead the team
- Lead & motivate the team to ensure, project goals, savings targets, QC align with the strategy set by Singapore Management
- Manage the team to ensure the full sourcing and supply chain of consumables projects.
- Project Management the Engineering projects ensuring they are completed
- Identify, Quality Control Commodity suppliers (e.g. resin, aluminium and starch)
- Leadership in this role requires a mix of delegation to team members as well as the ability to lead by example by completing the work and finalising projects. This is especially the case for complicated sourcing projects and the negotiation of QC issues with suppliers
2. Sourcing of Product
- Identify and pre-qualify best in class suppliers
- Laisse between internal stakeholders and the supplier to ensure all specifications and order details are understood.
- Where issues arise, understand exactly what is happening, take ownership of the issue and work to resolve with stake holders.
- Ensuring suppliers Deliver In Full and On Time (DIFOT)
- Ensure suppliers understand their level of supply performance and take actions to improve where necessary
3. Sourcing Price and Office Cost Control
- Find solutions to reduce prices to meet market expectations for external Customers and Procurement category targets
- Manage the interplay between specification and volume that controls the quotation process
- Control Office overhead costs
4. Project Management (Engineering)
- Ensure Capital & MRO sourcing activities are properly project managed, according to the category plan set by Procurement Manager in Singapore
5. Quality, Risk Control and Sustainable Supply
* Manage, Maintain & improve the existing QA and QC systems, ensure staff adhere to processes and the inspection regime Conduct Supplier Audits
- Understand the suppliers operations and identify their key people especially with the view to suggesting process improvements to lower cost and increase quality
- Identify and reduce unacceptable risks in the supply chain.
- Rectify QC/QA issues, including product replacement, post payment supplier negotiation and deposit recovery
6. Business Development
- Identifying new products that can be added to existing product ranges
7. Management
- All aspects of daily personnel and office management in the China business environment
- Plan, control team members work
- Working with internal stakeholders to ensure that all key value requirements are met in terms of specification, service, delivery and pricing requirements
- Day to Day order management and tracking
- Prepare necessary budget reports for weekly meeting with Singapore and Australia
- Manage and control local office expenses
- Implement and maintain company policies
- Ensure company complies to any necessary banking or regulatory procedures as guided by the Financial team in Shanghai and Singapore
The Successful Applicant
- Tertiary Degree in discipline relevant to this position
- Long history working in a medium to large International supply manufacturing business in roles which had responsibility or direct involvement in the fine details of product sourcing, Quality Assurance and Quality Control
- A developed understanding of supply chain and its effect on commercial arrangements
- Direct experience working as a supply contact in a European, American, Australian or Canadian business
- Demonstrated background in delivering projects
- Knowledge of Purchasing and Procurement processes
- QA QC Experience
- Excel, Word and PC competence
- Expediting experience
- Experience in Engineering and Capital environment
- Satisfactory Written English and Chinese
