职位描述

Our client is a well-established multinational company and is one of the world's leading manufacturers of heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems. They are look for a R&D Engineering Manager/Director in Shanghai.

1. JOB PURPOSE:

- Provide direction and leadership for design and advanced manufacturing engineering functions for the company in China.
- Principal responsibility for conducting new product development and sustaining engineering for the following, although not limited to, products: food retail display cabinets, compressor racks, condensing units, evaporators, condensers, etc. Responsibility for planning,organizing, and staffing of all China engineering groups and for the expenditure of capital monies for design, laboratories and advanced manufacturing facilities.

2. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plan, develop and maintain design and advanced manufacturing engineering organizations necessary to develop product designs and manufacturing approaches to refrigeration products in China.
2. Direct the evaluation of state of the art manufacturing techniques and systems necessary to ensure the leadership in reliability, quality and cost of the following, although not limited to, products: food retail display cabinets, compressor racks, condensing units, evaporators, condensers, etc.
3. Work with the Vice President, Engineering on the development of global coordination strategies and plans to strengthen commercial engineering core competencies. Lead consistent, robust engineering methodology for the development of new products for external sales. Create a globally consistent, robust engineering methodology using Design Procert tools and state of the art IT tools, such as Windchill for the development of new products globally in food retail display cabinets, compressor racks, condensing units, evaporators, condensers, etc.
4. Create and execute plans to shift the mix of engineering talent to add depth and breadth in essential competencies while de-emphasizing those skills that do not provide a competitive advantage to refrigeration.
5. Align the engineering staff to maximize product development effectiveness for the internal platform team structure.
6. Recruit, manage and mentor the highest caliber-engineering professionals available so as to provide the organization with the technology know how and innovative thinking that will consistently raise the performance bar for others in the industry to compete.
7. Set and meet aggressive objectives for new products success rate and time-to-market.
8. Work closely with other functional areas such as manufacturing and marketing so as to maximize the effectiveness of the product development process.

Job Requirements
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking
- Engineering background
- Good cross functional experience
- The incumbent will possess a minimum an MS in Engineering or Ph.D is preferred.
- Generally, the incumbent will have a minimum of 15 years cross-functional experience in the design, manufacture and supplier development and customer development of durable good products.
- Strong technical, operations management, marketing and leadership skills are required.
- Experience working in a global environment with Asia's experience is highly desired.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams is desired.
- Candidates from, Refrigeration, HVAC and similar industries preferred.
